Although Election Day is just over two months away, for Will Breazeale, candidate for United States Congress, country still comes first. Starting Saturday, Breazeale will fulfill his annual active duty obligation to the United States Army Reserve by serving for two weeks in a full time status. The decorated Iraq War veteran will proudly report to the United States Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, PA where his mission is to serve on a staff in charge of training future U.S. Army Generals. "The duty was scheduled months ago when there were no announced candidates in the primary. Even though this date comes less than 60 days before the election, I relish the commitment to my country and look forward to continuing the campaign in two weeks," commented Breazeale.

Breazeale will return to the campaign trail on March 13th where will attend the Duplin-GOP County Convention in Kenansville. Despite his absence due to service of country, 7th District residents will still see a strong Breazeale presence, as a plethora of campaign staff and volunteers have lined up to speak on his behalf at various events.

"When our team found out I was leaving, I had more volunteers to fill in than I knew what to do with. It's a great problem to have, being with so many people that are so fired up about our victory in 2010. I've been faithfully serving my country for 20 years now. To continue that obligation is something that is very important to me."

Seems like a decent prospect, but I don't care for his "Fair Health" plan with its tax surcharge for those who don't want health insurance. A true conservative would not propose something like this.

from his web site:

"The plan is as simple as this: If you like your current insurance plan, GREAT! Keep it! However, the Fair Health Plan also ensures that even those who cannot obtain private insurance are still not denied care. But unlike current legislative proposals that are little more than handouts from the wallet of we the taxpayers, the Fair Health Plan still requires each American to pay their own way. Every person that purchases private insurance is given a tamper proof “Proof of Insurance” card. Just like your current insurance card, you will need to carry this with you at all times. Those choosing not to purchase insurance, will pay a surcharge of 10 percent on all goods and services purchased. Those carrying the “Proof of Insurance” card will be exempt from any fees. The funds raised will be used to allow the federal government to negotiate the best deal with PRIVATE insurance companies."

I think it is better to get the federal gov't out of the health care business entirely.

I believe his Health plan isn’t the best- but it seems like a more free market choice than what we have now. I think he is trying to push something that conservatives and democrats alike could deal with. I am with you thought when it comes to the federal government in health care.

He has some wonderful plans dealing with the VA. He wants to sell all VA hospitals to private industries and give the vets a choice to receive care where they want. Instead of having VA insurance- they would have a government employee insurance like congress has. He is truly a patriot!

Yes, I like that plan a lot for Vets.

But I suppose it would be nice if they signed on to it.

Will is a great guy, and I support him
