We in the faith community can no longer stand by as our broken immigration system rips apart families and anger, frustration and misunderstanding about immigration law and our immigrant brothers and sisters divide our communities.
On March 21, in coordination with the Ecumenical Advocacy Days Conference, tens of thousands of people will gather on the National Mall to send a powerful message to President Obama and to Congress: The time to fix our broken immigration system is now. People of faith will join with tens of thousands of others who support immigrants and their families in the March for America: Change Takes Courage and Faith. The moral urgency of repairing the broken immigration system can only be seen in a dramatic display of unity among supporters of comprehensive immigration reform as gather in DC from all across the United States.
Throughout 2009, people of faith have been hosting prayer vigils and potluck suppers, meeting with members of Congress in their home districts, creating networks with other faith groups, labor groups, and businesses, building the historic movement for just and humane immigration reform. People of faith have been building this movement in order to meet the fierce urgency of this moment with bold, faithful action. We stand on the edge of making history and now is not the time to step back, give up, or let down. Now is the time to move ahead stronger than we ever have.
Now is the time to recruit as many people as we possibly can in our home faith communities to come to Washington DC on March 21. Now is the time to make history, to make our voices heard in the White House and on Capitol Hill, and to see just and humane immigration reform finally enacted. Now is the time to March for America because we well know that Changes Takes Courage and Faith. Please help us bring tens of thousands of people to Washington to advocate for comprehensive immigration reform. Click here to register and tell your friends!
Logistics The march is March 21, 2010 on the national mall Washington, DC from 2-5 PM.

Wonder if the march coordinators will still have to take up the Mexican flags, the flag most want to carry, and did carry until they were told it was not good PR?
Check the green cards at the gate, all others rounded up and shipped back whence they came from.
Either come in legally or don’t come at all!
There are no misunderstandings about our immigration laws. If you enter into the United States without permission from the government, you are here illegally. If you are here on a visa and you overstay the duration of that visa, you are here illegally. When you are caught and deported, it is you who is ripping apart your family. If you wish to stay together, take them back to your country when you leave. Am I missing something here, or am I being overly simplistic?
If the organizers are as smart as I think they are, there’ll be plenty of Mexican flags in evidence.
You’re not missing a thing so far as I’m concerned.
Good I thought I woke up in the wrong country this morning!
PING!
If you had read the article in the washingtonhispanic.com, all in Spanish, you could have indeed thought that.
Here’s something to chew on...

Invasion is not a civil right.
I don’t believe for a moment that the *faith community* actually believes it’s OK to break the law. To trespass, if you will.
Let’s see. What to do about high unemployment? Amnesty, healthcare, crap and trade, porkulus bills.
Get rid of the illegals, solve part of the health care cost problem. Also anyone who hires anyone legal green card or illegal should be held accountable for there health care costs.
Then let them rejoin their family in the country they came from.
Some years ago, I chose to move to Japan in pursuit of career opportunities not available stateside. It was tough because my kids were cute and little, but Japan would not issue them visas until I proved that I had the income and means to support them.
As hard as those four months were, I learned respect for their system and lost any sympathy I might have had for people who refuse to respect ours.

Getting rid of John McCain is a good start.
