American reliance on government at all time high
The Washington Times ^ | 3-1-10 | Patrice Hill

The so-called "Great Recession" has left Americans depending on the government dole like never before.

Without record levels of welfare, unemployment and other government benefits as well as tax cuts last year, the income of U.S. households would have plunged by an astonishing $723 billion — more than four times the record $167 billion drop reported last month by the Commerce Department.

Moreover, for the first time since the Great Depression, Americans took more aid from the government than they paid in taxes.

More reliance on the government is the goal of the Obama administration. They want to turn the US into a western-European like nanny state. So this is not surprising to me.

"Meanwhile, the amount of taxes that individual Americans paid plummeted by $325 billion to $2.1 trillion as a result of middle-class tax cuts and because nearly 6 million people were thrown out of work and are no longer paying payroll taxes."

Parts of the article are incorrect. The above assumption is that the total federal revenue receipts of $2.1 trillion was all due to individuals. Sorry, but that total revenue of $2.1 trillion for last year consists of corporate taxes, individul taxes, excise taxes, and custom duties.

Kind of hard to accept the article at face value with such a major flaw in it.

My theory of the entire Obama Plan is a national and ultimately, international, Cloward-Piven strategy of dependence, squeezed freedoms, open borders, Muslim appeasement and political correctness, ending in gulags and death.

When you topple the system, the only way “home” will be via government. Teaching children to be mediocre, global warmin is real, all whites are oppressive, homosexuality is normal, energy is bad, healthcare is a right, Marx was right, the Founders were wrong...it is a drumbeat we have been played for 100 years.

We need to either give in and take our Obama medicine, literally and figuratively, or push back and re-take our country, with the appropriate treason trials and “vigilante” justice that will undoubtedly occur.

And why do I think that at least 1/3 of Americans are totally brain dead and do not realize that soon the well will dry up. Can’t continue and they think we will support them with our taxes forever.

On the plus side, I think this will all be over fairly quickly - like a boil coming to a head and bursting.

It will be painful and messy but will heal quickly and we will all adjust to the new paradigm...

What ever that might be. d:^/
