Big Island elected officials arriving to meet with Army representatives at Pohakuloa Training Area got a eye-opening surprise Wednesday morning In addition to the usual gaggle of anti-Semites and 9-11 trooothers protesting against the military, they were greeted at the front gate by a dozen Big Island residents rallying to support the troops. According to a source inside the closed briefing, the troop supporters became the topic of conversation within the meetings over and over again. Community leaders were heard to exclaim "We had no idea that there was this much support for PTA and the military here on the Big Island. All we ever see and hear about is the Jim Albertini protesters and their point of view!" Hawaii County Mayor Billy Kenoi, Rep. Faye Hanohano, and others were in attendance.

PTA use by the Army. Nobody else will pay to use that land.
Plus there are some(a few) civilian jobs on the base.
yea , a least a thousand jobs ....seriously
I’m glad the leftists were met with opposition and the troops met with support. At the end of the article it mentions depleted Uranium shells. I do have a problem with depleted Uranium: it’s a shame to waste it. When U-238 absorbs a neutron it transforms into Plutonium 239 which is good reactor fuel. One pound of Uranium yields the same energy as 6000 barrels of oil.
