Israel urges U.S. to adopt Cuba-like embargo on Iran

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The United States should impose sanctions unilaterally against Iran in the same way it acted alone by clamping an embargo on Cuba 50 years ago, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Tuesday.

Israel, which sees a mortal threat in the prospect of Iran getting a nuclear bomb, has lobbied for "crippling" U.N. Security Council sanctions against Iran's energy sector.

But Washington and other world powers have balked at such measures for now, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week the Security Council should be sidestepped if it cannot agree to act.

The globalist elite, through their sock puppet Obama, won't allow an embargo upon Iran, because it would interfere with their plans for Iranian nukes, and their plan to start WWIII in the Middle East.

Avigdor Liebermann needs to know that an embargo on Iran is a fantasy compared to Cuba preceding the Cuban Missile Crisis...

...because 0bama (a globalist elite puppet) is at the helm.

"I am not Fidel Castro, and my country Iran is not Cuba. Don't think about enforcing an embargo against my country."

Really, the world would rather cut off its nose to spite Israel’s face. Does any sane man think the loose cannon in Iran would stop there?

I urge Israel to drop the hammer down on Iran - unilaterally if the U.S. Pres__ent can’t muster up the b@lls to defend our ally.

Well, since the embargo against Cuba has successfully prevented Castro from using nuclear weapons for the last 50 years, it makes perfect sense to employ the same technique in dealing with the government of Iran.

Oh.

Correction: I was just reminded that the trade sanctions we imposed against Cuba were done in response to Castro's expropriation of American property soon after his regime came to power in the late 1950s. They were extended to agriculture after Fidel Castro began playing footsie with the Soviets, by a John F. Kennedy executive order in early 1962.

Close, but no cigar.

Unlike the Arabs and Persians, we Americans have real long memories of foreign governments' transgressions which cause hardship to our citizens and businesses operating in foreign lands. We don't get mad, we get even. Many of the current generation probably have trouble understanding why there is still a trade embargo after 50 years. They need only ask their parents or grandparents and they will learn. (Unless they don't know either.)

Presupposes the administration views Iranian nukes as a threat to the US or our interests. I doubt they do.
