WASHINGTON -- Representative William Delahunt will not seek re-election to Congress, the seven-term Democrat will announce tomorrow, ending a nearly 40-year career in elected office and giving Republicans hope of capturing the seat, which stretches from Cape Cod to the South Shore.

The Boston Globe admits that the GOP has a chance (again!) to take a seat in MA? I’m impressed. Obviously, the editors think Obama’s leadership is in question, and he isn’t spending enough or pushing hard enough on health care!
Yeah, and I’ve got a chance to be the next Powerball winner. Actually, I’ve got a BETTER chance of being the next Powerball winner. Look at the demo on the Cape.
Did Scott Brown win this district? Brown won Barneys Frank district.
After Scott Brown we just dont know how bad odumbo has made it for the rats
Wow. The hits just keep on coming.
Scott Brown won Teddy Kennedy’s old Senate seat
Another Dem calls it quits rather than lose.
If the Republicans win any seat in Massachusetts, it will be the 10th. Scott Brown got about 60% of the vote there and there looks like a decent Republican field is taking shape.
woops - sorry about that - I’m not sure if he won Delahunt’s District....
As I said in an above post, Brown won the 10th handily (about 60% of the vote last time I checked, might be a little more, might be a little less, but I remember reading 60%).
Handwriting was on the wall.
I’m VERY familiar with the Cape. I’m also curious what could have motivated the Globe to say the result is in doubt. I doubt that they are hoping to motivate their base (and, yes, they are the propaganda wing of the MA Dem Party), since the question could actually encourage voters who have never thought before to consider what candidates are saying if “everybody else is thinking about it”. I don’t think the Globe would risk such a comment unless they considered it a real possibility.
I think he means “did Scott Brown win more votes than the democrat in this district”
And the answer is yes, he did.
A republican will win Delahunt’s seat. And if the legislature remains democratic next year, they will redistrict this district out of existence.
Correct me if this is innacurate, but I saw a post election map of MA showing it.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I know, but Brown won the district votes in his senate race.

That’s the town-by-town map. Virtually all of the 10th is red except for the islands, Provincetown, and its neighboring towns.
