IT IS an image that will leave every Australian sick to the stomach.
Our national mascot dressed in shorts and boxing gloves with a rope tied around its chest, goaded into boxing with a human clown.
One of Australia's most iconic symbols is reduced to a cruel and insulting comedy act - all in front of an audience cheering for more.
Welcome to BorderFest - a US festival in Hidalgo, Texas, designed to "celebrate" all things Australian.

Somehow I doubt the folks in Hidalgo, TX give a Kangaroo's Arse what some Brit rag has to say about their festival.

The Aussies I know hate kangaroos. Just over sized rats.

Imagine a festival designed to “celebrate” America and beating up on a bald eagle as a comedy act. Just think about it for a second and how it would make you feel.

I dunno, I'd pay good money to see a bald eagle hand out the kind of ass-whuppin being given to that clown...Assuming that bald eagles were as numerous as rats and served in restaurants as a novelty food...

Somehow I doubt the folks in Hidalgo, TX give a Kangaroo's Arse what some Brit rag has to say about their festival. The Daily Telegraph (Old English font) is a conservative UK broadsheet paper published by the Barclay Bros Telegraph Media group.
The Daily Telegraph (Modern font) is a conservative Australian tabloid paper published by the Murdoch World Domination Corp.
Checking the URL will tell you which one this is.
And take off the rope, sharpen the roo's toes and have at it.

This is no better than the bears you see tethered in the streets of Asia for ‘sport’ - Personally I would love to tie a rope around this idiot and see how he likes being led around a ring and belted a few times. Typical American redneck BS. Nobody should think this has anything to do with Australia, or that Australians would condone this sort of mindless stupid cruelty.

Looks to me like the ‘roo won the fight. Besides, when I was in Australia kangaroo’s weren’t held in the highest esteem. Think there’s a little manufactured outrage here.

Just think about it for a second and how it would make you feel. But don't you know, autumnraine, a certain group of Freepers think that to their jaunticed eyes, nothing is sacred, everything is subject to their tough talk. And believe me, that's all they offer--tough talk.

Any event with Clowns is probably in bad taste.

I wish I could manufacture outrage over a cheesy stage act in some nowhere Texas town, too.
That kangaroo probably eats better than I do. And is injured less often.

If that's called entertainment in Hidalgo, then they're deserving of being called stupid, dumbass hicks..........
I still have respect for Texas tho, but not Hidalgo and its ignorant 'roo rasslers...........
Tell you what, just parade a mule thru town with a case of beer tied to its back and a sign saying "free beer and sex" and watch the fun begin.........
