My guess is that if he gets the nomination, it would be a debacle.

If the economy improves even modestly, Obama will be harder and harder to beat, especially if the GOP stick with the recycled bunch of wannabes who've been trying to get the nomination for years.

Out of desperation, the GOP could go with that other Bush, Jeb, and learn that voters are still suffering from Bush fatigue.
