The trial for a Nashville judge has now been postponed, and a deal could be in the works.

It's just the possibility recently raised by NewsChannel 5 Investigates with Judge Gloria Dumas' lawyer.

"Would you be willing to accept some sort of reprimand?" we asked.

"I don't know -- I'd have to ask her," lawyer Ben Cantrell said, adding that they preferred not to go into a full-blown trial.

Dumas was scheduled to face an ethics trial next month for being repeatedly late to court, as well as other alleged violations.

Now, the parties have agreed to put off the trial for almost four months.

During that time, they'll work with a mediator to try to resolve the case.

Right now, the trial is set for July 28th.
