Reagan, air traffic controllers, redux.
My son is a union carpenter working in Manhattan; he is required to be available for picket "duty" a certain number of times per year, or pay a fine to the union.
Are you seious. Fines if you don’t agree to picket?
Now wait a minute! You said:"Im overly fond of symmetry" and then you said it once again! "thats why Im so fond of symmetry"
Maybe you mean "moral equivalence" and if so, that is equally as wrong as what I pointed out above!!!
When someone collects enough capital to back an idea/concept to provide a needed whatever and tries to do it at a profit, it is neither moral, or even justified to ungreatfully collect a mob to collectively usurp a subjective "fair share" of those resources and profits until the host dies!!!
Rationalizing about moral equivalency or some possible "balance" between good and evil is dangerous to one's character, even though it's what's forced into young minds in our GovernMental institutionals of indoctrination!
This may explain why far too many end up in a GovernMental Union, believing like a religious EnvironMentalist in utter blastphemous nonsense called liberalism!!!
So we disagree. I think it’s not only moral for workers to negotiate their pay and to retain the freedom to work or not work, but indeed imperative for an efficient and productive economy. And I think this applies to individuals and to individuals who choose to join a union.
As individuals, the same individuals who choose NOT to join a coercive collective pressure group, you are correct! The immoral thing is to exercise the evil of threatening to entirely sieze the resources/profits of an enterprise that was benevolent enough to hire someone like you in the first place.
It is a distinction with a distinct and meaningul difference and should not be rationalized away in some form of equitable servitude for the employer. Only cowardly ingrates come at this in that manner.
Yes, IIRC, actually it is part of the dues paid that is rebated to those who do picket; same as a fine to those who don't.
