Larry Craig most likely was personally for gay marriage but he cast his votes for his constituency. He couldn't tell those of us in Idaho that he was gay and still expect to get elected.
Mitt Romney wanted to get elected in a state where they worship Planned Parenthood and I think Romney said what he had to say to get elected as Larry Craig did. Go ahead and piss on the Mormons if you want but they are one of conservatism's strongest coalitions.

Daryl, if Jesus only looked upon outward assets, then the Pharisees & the teachers of the law passed your standards w/flying colors and Jesus was mistaken to "diss" them.
Bottom line: hey, if you're auditioning for godhood, which temple Mormons are, you better be on your best outward behavior.
You want Mormons to leave the conservative coalition just keep bashing them. There are only 3 million of them, we will never miss them.

What's also interesting is apparently just as you don't ask the Lds missionaries to leave us alone -- showing your two-sidedness -- apparently you likewise don't or won't address the Lds "scriptures" which reference ALL Christian sects...Catholicism, Protestantism, and Orthodox -- as being 100% filled with "corrupt professors" who believe 100% creeds which apparently are an "abomination" to the Mormon god.

So, no, Daryl, Lds don’t have to leave the conservative coalition anymore than Christians do when Mormon “scriptures” label them all of those names above. We can work together in Prop 8 type initiatives; Boy Scouts, etc. If we can tolerate them sending out 53,000 Lds missionaries, the bulk of them to Christian homes, coupled with their descriptors of us, then they can tolerate us, too.
