The environmental laws are simply out of control.

Nobody wants them dumping mercury in the rivers or anything but 1 part per 10 billion crap needs to stop.

Suspend? That wouldn’t do any good at all.

Cancel.

If you merely suspend the rules, no corporations in their right minds would start hiring, because they would know that the suspension could end at any time, and then they’d be screwed worse than ever.

If it wasn’t for the environmental laws, how would the delta smelt be able to contribute their fair share of tax revenue?

Yes. Sacramento needs to do everything in its power to cut down the state’s unemployment rate. 50% (932 votes)

Yes, but the 5.5% unemployment threshold for AB 32’s implementation is too low. 2% (42 votes)

No. The economy isn’t in a serious enough situation to warrant such action. 3% (49 votes)

No. The state’s environmental protection laws should never be suspended. 45% (842 votes)

Total Votes: 1,865

Wow, I see what you mean, those are some kool-aid drinkers. Sure glad we relocated from California 13 years ago.

I highly recommend reading Out Of Bounds and Out of Control; by James DeLong which contains examples of how the EPA is more dangerous then a liberal Supreme Court or Democrats in Congress. Regulatory agencies members are not elected and are often used to shield political operatives who desire an agenda without being accountable for it.

No way! CA voted for Obama, they should follow his lead. We need MORE environmental regulations and MORE green jobs to save the CA economy!

Exactly.

I have been posting ths and writing my congress critters about the EPA for months.

But the Endangered Species Act also needs to go.

They have used this for everything from the smelts in CA to the polar bears in Alaska to bugs in other states.

The ESA has wrecked many industries and many jobs.

Truely endangered critters can be protected without some massive federal beauracracy. In most cases the landowners are happy to do what they can to protect an endangered species as long as they don’t have the feds breathing down their necks.

I don’t like to use harsh pesticides in my yard. I don’t kill frogs, toads, snakes, turtles etc.

And why the hell to we protect invasive species like mute swans?
