Former Alaska governor and GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin blamed out-of-touch Washington elites with trying to foist an ill-advised healthcare overhaul on Americans that betrays the nations traditional ideals, principles, and values.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd of 1,300 Florida Republicans at an Orlando, Fla., fundraiser Friday night, Palin repeatedly said that Democrats and President Obama are speaking down to Americans, rather than listening to their genuine concerns.
These days, the left lectures us, and they apologize for us, and they mock, and they spend the better part of a year talking down to us, Palin said, referring to the marathon bickering over the presidents proposed healthcare reforms. Then they tell us that Americans would learn to like their programs if only we were smart enough to understand them.
Well Ive got news for them, Palin said to rousing applause. We understand plenty. We know what theyre trying to do. ... We dont like it. We dont want European-style ObamaCare. We want a system that reflects our values, and our principles, and Americans love of freedom . We want solutions that are uniquely American.
Driving her point home, Palin declared, Our best ideas arent the ones we import from other countries.

She speaks in a language that you and I can understand- common sense American.
She’s good. She is one of the few that “gets it.”
Beautiful! Thanks for posting Sarah’s wisdom.
Too bad GW Bush couldn’t speak like this,
No. Not a single one has been as strong and consistent as Sarah.
Bump...
Isn't that the truth! It's like all the other wanabee dweebs don't have a clue what to say at anytime. But she does, I'll follow her. This lady is something else....
They referred to her as a “presidential candidate”.
I must have missed news of her announcement.
Typical newsmax....
Go get ‘em, Madam President!
No they didn't. Read it again.
Well I will says she is spot on here.
But I must confess I have a bit of a problem. The problem being Sarah is endorsing, campaigning for and rasining money for one of the very people she is ripping here, John “Amnesty” McCain.
I don’t care if it’s out of “loyalty” for putting her on his ticket. Sarah owes McCain nothing. If anything McCain owes her. If he wins the primary vs Hayworth it will be with Sarahs help, and Sarah probably brought at least 5,000,000 conservatives out to vote in 2008 that probably would have stayed home had McCain put a moderate on his ticket instead.
I really wish Sarah would just stay away from McCain. He is poison and his people continue to rip her in the press with no defense from McCain.
Just my two cents.
Me 2.
I wish Sarah was not in the position that McCain put her in.
A no win situation.
I also wish people would realize that and leave her alone about it.
“This could have been said by anyone. It means nothing. Surely there is more in the transcript that has more substance.”
Maybe, but no one else seems to be saying it. Pretty much only Palin. I found quite a bit of substance reading the article. Especially when she spoke of energy. And about them not listening to the American people...only wanting to lecture us. It doesn’t have to be profound to resonate. Just has to be right. Just my two cents and that’s all it’s worth.
