Schools 'push teen mothers to be dropouts'
The Observer ^ | Sunday 14 March 2010 | Tracy McVeigh

Teenage mothers are being thrown on the career scrap heap because they face so many barriers in getting back into school, the children's charity Barnardo's says.

Young women are often left out of school on "spurious health and safety grounds" and feel pressured by their schools not to come back after having had a baby, says the charity.

Maybe in England, but here there are many programs for “teen mothers.”

If we stop celebrating and rewarding bad behavior... maybe we’ll have less bad behavior.

Makes sense to me. Have a baby, go to night school.

Isn’t it cheaper to just get the kids out of school and on welfare ... Think of the unions first.

Y0ou mean to tell me that government schools entice teenagers to have sex with sex education and free condoms, thenand then try to shut the door on their Feducation if one gets pregnant?

Some might view bad behavior as exposing your country to invasion by waiting until you’re 35 years old to marry and then having 1.4 children. What is needed is national policies to again make it possible for people to marry and start families at 17 - 20 (i.e. when we’re biologically programmed for it), as was universally the case 100 years ago.

Kick them out and insure welfare because of no education? Doesn’t sound like a plan to me.

They get tutors who come to their homes until 17.

I see. So decent people can’t homeschool while these sluts get a good one on one education (and I’m not talking about THAT you pervet FReepers!) in their own homes?

In the USA, when a gal in High School got preggers, they used to send them to the “bad boys and girls” school with the druggies and drop outs and discipline problems.

Then a gal successfully sued to prevent this, and was allowed to continue in her normal High School.

As a consequence of this, pregnancy rates in High Schools went up everywhere that this became the new policy.

Pregnancy, or the desire to become so, is highly contagious among women/girls. They see someone getting lots of attention and think “hey, that could be me!” and then they make it so.

Maybe if were weren’t supporting entire generations on welfare, that might be able to happen. The hardworking and decent breed while the losers don’t.

I must be psychotic then. I viewed pregnancy as a teenager as something to avoid.

They don’t believe in marriage anymore. They just believe in bed hopping. Try building a society on that.

And when you were a teenager, were they ‘ostracized’ by being sent to the bad school? Or were they allowed to continue as normal, roaming the halls with a big pregnant belly and talking to their friends about their prenatal appointments and their baby daddy?

In addition to tutoring, they may or may not attend school at special locations not at the main high school my wife had a very long running TV Show on mother baby care and was asked to advise the program.

She attended one session where the girls discussed their problem and learned that 4 of the 6 were having the babies of the same father.

How bout them apples?

Public schools don’t educate much these days anyways.

“Or were they allowed to continue as normal, roaming the halls with a big pregnant belly and talking to their friends about their prenatal appointments and their baby daddy?”

Yeah. One girl, Nicolette, got pregnant and missed prom. Everyone sympathized with her, except me and my then-boyfriend.

You’re right for the most part. But without a diploma, they’re going nowhere.

They can take the rest of their classes online.

As a matter of fact all kids can go to “public school” online these days I think. Its the only thing Bill Bennett did right. I think its called k-12.org or something like that.
