I continue to be amazed at how poorly Republicans work simple, coherent talking points, even with a wealth of damaging information at their fingertips. Must be the nice-guy syndrome.

"First they take our healthcare, next they give us amnesty." That took all of 2 seconds. Rinse, wash, repeat. It ain't that hard, people.

Right. I wish some Republican would request that CBO prepare an official estimate of the cost of Obamacare assuming amnesty. Indeed, this may be a way to slow this freight train down. With Obama no longer leaving the country, the “urgency” of a vote on Sunday is pure fabrication. The bill won’t even go into effect until 2014. It’s absurd to claim 1 or 2 more weeks matters.

Some wavering Dems might love the excuse to postpone their suicide votes on the reasonable grounds that Congress should be fully informed about this momentous decision. Indeed, they could argue that they fear passing this costly measure might force them to vote against amnesty in the future since it would break the bank and it wouldn’t be fair not to give these new citizens the same health care entitlement that everyone else is getting. So maybe it would make more sense to decide on the amnesty question FIRST and THEN see how much health care reform the nation can afford.
