Less than 24 hours after McCain says there will be no more cooperation in the Senate from Republicans, his BFF Lindsay makes him out to be a fool and a liar.
He has only stood for reelection once since he started playing footsie with the Democrats at every opportunity. The primary challenger didn't have what it took to overcome Graham's name recognition and considerable funds.
Also, South Carolina is known for returning Senators election after election. They returned both Strom Thurmond (1954/1956- 2003)and Fritz Hollings (1966-2005) to the Senate even though they represented very opposing viewpoints.
I am not unhappy to call SC home, but I am not a native and there ARE a lot of quirky things about the politics in this state. It will take a miracle to unseat Graham in a GOP Primary, IMHO.
If McCain was not running for office he’d be pushing amnesty right now.
Let’s not be fooled, McCain and Graham will push a knife into the GOP’s back every chance they get - after all, the electorate continues to reward them for doing it.
JD Hayworth should be painting McCain as a collaberator, not a Smurf.

With McCain’s history, given the mood of the electorate, there is no reason why he can’t be defeated in the primaries by a conservative candidate with a strong spine.

It is something everyone does and if you are talking to some one in your area it is OK. San Francisco is “the bay area” but it isn’t the only bay area.

Sure, a chicken will flee at the first sign of trouble. But that's because flight is a logical choice for a creature which is vulnerable.
On the other hand, if a chicken is cornered or protecting her young, they will without hesitation take on a threat much bigger than them.
Grahamnesty, like his mentor McCain, loves the accolades of the enemedia and doesn't have the sense of a chicken.

We have a small flock (two flocks, different breeds), and the free-range chickens prevail over the dogs for domination of the yard.
My only point was that they voted the way their constituents wanted them to vote, which was the point made with which I was differing.
And there are a lot of others who are not "whores" either.
We need to be bright enough and wise enough to understand who's who and what's going on in DC right now. We've got some real advocates, and they need to be supported. Period.

I’m amazed that such a liberal Republican can win elections in such a conservative state. Having RINO Senators in a place like Maine is at least understandable. But So. Carolina?! And a fruity RINO to boot!

Meanwhile, Palin campaigns for McCain and donates her money to Graham and the crowd goes wild with fawning support for her.
