There are some on this thread who bash TR when they don’t have an appreciation for American history as their family were still in other countries when TR was President.

My great great grandfather was in New York City politics when TR was Gov. on NY and major Republican.

My family here predates the Revolution and I’ll bash TR for the Progressive he was. What a condescending bowl of tripe.

There is a time for fighting hard core conservative values and then there is a time for someone who can charge an emplaced fort and prevail.

The latter is needed.

We need strength, honor, and a desire to target absolute corruption. I never saw Palin as a Reagan. She is closer to Teddy Roosevelt and Margaret Thatcher. Smart, gritty, and willing to stop the political machine. It ends up like Reagan (smaller government, weakened Washington, stronger America) but she is not the social conservative some may think her to be (policy-wise). She would be a modern day ‘trust buster’ .
