Good news: RNC charged several thousand at L.A. “bondage-themed club”; Update: Spender identified

We knew he was a “cool boss.” We … just didn’t know how “cool.”

From a Daily Caller story on the chairman’s alleged desire to purchase a private jet — which seems only too plausible, given previous reports of RNC profligacy — spot the buried lede:

While Steele has not purchased a plane, he continues to charter them. According to federal disclosure records, the RNC spent $17,514 on private aircraft in the month of February alone (as well as $12,691 on limousines during the same period). There are no readily identifiable private plane expenses for Democratic National Committee chairman Tim Kaine in the DNC’s last three months of filings.

The RNC explains that Steele charters jets only when commercial service is unavailable, or when his tight schedule requires it. “Anytime the chairman has taken any private travel has been a either to a route that doesn’t exist or because of connections and multiple travel to where he just wasn’t able to do so,” Heye said. Yet Steele’s office repeatedly refused to explain in specific terms the circumstances of the February charter flights.

Just a bit of information ~ the Republican party is located in urban and non-urban counties. The Democrats, in contrast, are primarily located in the inner city or the favelas surrounding commercial airports.

It's simply not possible to take commercial aircraft to all the places where there are Republicans.

Yeah, sure. His time is sooo valuable that he has to suck up gobs of funds that could go to candidates.

It’s easy to be generous with someone else’s money.

I find this incredibly hard to believe. A lot of people in business who are on tight schedules manage to find commercial air service in a pinch.

Somehow, I don't think Steele is going to the far reaches of North Daktoa to fundraise...

That’s it! I bet all those charters were for Steele to visit donors in East Nowhere, Outer Texas. That’s it, for sure!

Jackass. 17,500 is pretty good seed money for a long shot congressional candidate isn’t it? Maybe 150,000 for the low end races?

Bottom line his little trips on private planes are wortheless to republicans and costing us some long shots . . . and long shots will pay off in 2010.

This nonsense is the reason I donate to several of the conservative PAC’s rather than the RNC.

When Republicans act like Democrats they do not deserve Conservative support.

There are no readily identifiable private plane expenses for Democratic National Committee chairman Tim Kaine in the DNC’s last three months of filings; because Kaine, like all democrats now uses military planes as their private charter planes.

Tempest in a teapot...

Let’s see a report on the corporate jets the DNC uses.

What is Steele and company supposed to woo donors in, a cab?

More important to me by a magnitude of 10,000, is what RNC political policy is. Why type of people are they supporting? What are those candidate’s platforms?

As P.J. O'Rourke once observed, what it can be is explained. What it can't be is believed.

That is ridiculous. Please don’t make such stereotypical statements when you really do not know.

I live in a very rural community in Montana, and of course there is a Democratic headquarters here, as in every county of our state! Democrats and Republicans all have headquarters in the same places.
