LOL, you just have to hit the hornet’s nest with a stick. I think I will watch from safely inside as too many past stings.

Regrettable statement by Palin.

Let’s hope it isn’t what it appears.

MCCain’s open-borders policy is responsible for the murder of an AZ rancher and his dog the other day.

Does Palin support that policy?

She’s absolutely, flat out wrong on this.

McCain has ALWAYS been pro-amnesty.

Sarah, I support you on just about every issue you stand for, however, amnesty is not one of them. And it’s a BIG “not one of them”. I suggest some education on the issue and not just what Juan McCain is feeding you.

Since Palin supports McCain’s position on immigration, I will NOT support her for any elective office.

It sounds like a rather artful answer. She is campaigning for McCain, so of course she says she supports his position. Then she takes the step of defining his position for him, the one she says she accepts, which is to secure the border. Now, we know from the past that he was not in favor of securing the border. He may be this week, since he is running for office. She isn’t backing the pro-amnesty McCain, she’s backing the McCain who supposedly supports securing the border. I’m not sure he exists, but thats the position she is claiming. The onus is on him now; she has put him in a position of having to accept her view.

“PALIN: I support his position on immigration.”

Which one, Sarah, his reelection year position, or his real position?

Dishonest at best.

Sarah said, “I agree with John on this, it’s all about securing the border” (paraphrased quote)

She didn’t at any point mention granting anyone amnesty

Are all Ron Paul's supporters as dishonest and divisive as you?

No wonder you can't get his poll numbers over 1%.

The difference between liberals and conservatives, when it comes to choosing candidates, is that libs are ok with having a less-than-perfect (in their eyes) candidate, whereas conservative expect their candidates to pass every litmus test thrown at them. As a result, we tend to be far more critical of our candidates and subject them to far more scrutiny than the libs do. Now, I'm not saying that's wrong, it's just an observation. I think, however, that as a result our candidates have been handicapped in a general election, because they have to spend time and resources courting 'the base,' whereas the libs tend to unite behind their candidate. The MSM then jumps on the bandwagon, "conservatives question So-and-So's stand on such and such," where they wouldn't dare question the libs' candidate.

The perfect candidate does not exist. Even Reagan wasn't perfect, although he got closer than anybody since. We must do a better job getting good candidates, who get as close as possible to that perfect status, into general elections. Take control of primaries and such. Support those candidates who best reflect conservative values, and then hold them to those standards if they get elected.

For too long, the GOP has taken conservatives for granted, happily taking their money while ignoring the requests for conservatism, thinking that we wouldn't abandon them anyway. They've put up Republicans who simply weren't conservative. As a result, the House and Senate were lost in 2006 and in 2008 the margin got widened even more when Obamania swept in a lot more Dems. Had the Republicans shown more conservatives principles, the losses in 2006 might not have been as severe, and there might not have been a supermajority in the Senate, to pass Obamacare.

I don't believe in calling somebody a RINO any longer, because as a whole, the Republican party hasn't been conservative. Who we call RINOs are really par for the course of the modern day GOP. They are CINOs, Conservatives In Name Only. Only now Steele and ilk are sending out a conservative message, to once again appeal to our wallets.

Here is my solution to the whole thing. It is expensive but I do believe it will work. First, we build a fence and top it with razor wire right on the border. Then 200 yards from it and parallel to it build another fence and top it with razor wire. The space in between the fences we fill with lions, tigers, cougars, bobcats and ocelots. Then we put up towers manned with snipers and all of them in sight of each other. From the second fence and 200 yards out we put down mines. At the end of the minefield we put down pairs of little flags, one Mexican one American. Spaced out evenly we have some doormats and a bullhorn.

Now if an illegal makes it over the first fence, escapes the lions, tigers, cougars, bobcats and ocelots, makes it over the second fence, negotiates the minefield while under sniper fire, picks up the flags, throws the Mexican flag down on the doormat and wipes his feet on it, takes the bullhorn and sings the Star Bangled Banner while enthusiastically waving the American flag, oh what the hell, he can stay.

Last week I (registered Republican)received a call asking if the election were today who would you vote for? JD Hayworth or John McCain?
I answered JD Hayworth. The caller said, “thank you, this was paid for by the John McCain reelection campaign.

Today my husband (registered Independent) got the same call. He told them JD Hayworth. They said thank you and hung up.

I think they are getting the message that he is in trouble in this primary.
So now, we're hearing more commercials by McCain than ever. His wife's money couldn't buy him the presidency but it may work here if Hayworth doesn't get enough support to put this own agenda out there in front of the voters.
