>> I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions...
The entire thought needs to be considered.
I like Sarah, and admire her loyalty, but she is wrong on McCain.
You just never quit, do you Rabs? Nice try, but I can read the ‘whole’ thing.
ping.
"I know...we're screwed...keep smiling..."
wasn’t much there there Rabs
Greta soft pedaled that one and let them answer with platitudes
but you are right
she will have to take a stand or not
if she comes out for amnesty and she’s lost my support
plain and simple
Dear Sarah,
I do not support Amnesty John’s position. Block entry: yep, I support that.
Pathway to citizenship from this side of the border: nope, don’t support that.
You need to stop running with dogs. You’re getting fleas and their bites carry something that’s infecting the “common sense” lobe in your brain.
Faith,
Xzins
Another genius ploy by the very cerebral Sarah? If you think her lust for McCain is simply a repayment of debt, you are very simple. She is nothing more than a double talking politician and because of it she will never be our nominee. Sorry folks but you have hitched your wagon to the wrong horse.
So Sarah supports amnesty?
I need to rethink my position on her.....
It all comes down to securing the border.
So another great conservative hope falls by the wayside?
Can you BELIEVE it...some are still making excuses for her!! Now, I’m absolutley convinced either two things are going on here...1) these excusers are Bushite/McCainite pro-amnesty themselves, or, 2) they are so far gone on Palin that she could come out in favor of same sex marriage or abortion...and they would STILL support her.
Here are the Senators who voted against the Cornyn amendment , which would have established a permanent bar for gang members, terrorists, and other criminals looking to snag a shamnesty visa. Republicans underlined:
Never forget McCain not only pushed the amnesty bill, he refused to allow exclusions for the worst of the lot. And he unloaded his infamous temper on his mild-mannered senate colleague for having the audacity to introduce this amendment.
McCain has never explained, much less apologized, for this vote.
She is in a tough spot. She can’t very well turn around and say he is not qualified for the Senate 18 months after touring the country and telling us he was qualified to be President. Nor does she want to develop Barry’s reputation for tossing inconvenient old colleagues under the bus.
Better clarify that. Supporting McCain is support for Amnesty. That contradicts securing the border. McCain rolled the dice hoping amnesty would put him over the top. Didn't work. Whatever impact illegals had went for Barry. Take a principled stand for employment for citizens of this country within this country, and you can win. Otherwise, you have to be democrat.
She has a sense of loyalty to him , but it is misplaced if she thinks she may have a political future..
This is TOO MUCH. She is going beyond what friendship requires.
Greta asks Sarah Palin "IF you were vice president today"
Since this was a rush transcript, maybe Sarah said "I WOULD support..." instead of "I support....."
If she was Vice President she would naturally support the President.
Since this was a rushed transcript I will give her the benefit of the doubt, as to where she actually stands on immigration. I don't think I have ever heard her say she would give them amnesty.
This is getting ridiculous. Sarah Palin has made her views on amnesty and immigration perfectly clear. Going through these appearances with McCain searching for ‘gotcha’ moments helps who, exactly? Isn’t this the exact same thing people on this site were complaining about the liberal media doing during the campaign?
Sarah Palin is trying to get John McCain re-elected. She honestly and legitimately believes he is the best man for the job. She hasn’t said anything bad about his opposition, or campaigned against his opposition, she is trying to help someone she respects.
Pretending that her support of McCain is new, or that her opinions have changed, or that we somehow just weren’t aware that she has supported McCain for the last TWO YEARS is not honest. And I don’t see what it accomplishes.
Personally, I admire that Sarah’s put herself in an uncomfortable situation. It means she’s not going to shrink away from making unpopular decisions. I think that’s important in any kind of a leader.
