“She isn’t backing the pro-amnesty McCain, she’s backing the McCain who supposedly supports securing the border.”

This is my issue with this whole mess.

John McCain is John McCain. There are not two McCains; just one spineless, gutless will-do-or-say-anything-for-a-vote McCain. The fact that she’s supporting him does her absolutely no service. You can’t endorse only half the man. Especially in the primary, especially against a Conservative.

Amen.

I like Palin, and I've cut her some slack for what she's doing in Arizona. But like a lot of people, this has raised an alarm flag for me.

And I do notice that while she has been pretty clear about wanting to secure the border, she has also equivocated a bit about amnesty. Before she's ready for prime time she is going to have to get past that, and be able to clearly articulate her position and be ready to take the pounding that comes with it.

She wants a humane answer. I agree. There is nothing inhumane about expecting people to go home to their home country. The most humane answer I can come up with is also the simplest. Secure the border. Enforce the law. Let the chips fall.
