It was 64 kilometres southwest of San Luis, in the US state of Arizona, the USGS added.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said its initial assessment found "no significant damage or injuries'' but had responded to an increase in automatic alarms and stuck elevators.

...and God's wrath on Southern Libbifornia.
Wow, everything is now coming across the border .... was INS involved?
Either that or an escalation in the drug gang turf war.
I am glad that the Times is on top of the important details.
7.2 is a big-un. Fortunately, that’s a desolate area.
7.2 is a big-un. Fortunately, thats a desolate area.”
I am in Imperial Valley and if you call 1.25 million people desolate you definition does not jibe with mine
Isn’t the population of the Mexicali area around 900,000?
The epicenter was the Imperial Valley? I had not heard that.
I wonder...
Thinking about you and yours. Hope everyone you know in the area is OK.
Google Map 26 kilometres southwest of Guadalupe Victoria, Baja California, Mexico. Use the satellite view. Everything for miles around is farmland.
Why is it that evry time an earthquake, hurricane, fire or some other natural disaster happens, the end of the world people come out? These things have been happening for billions of years. When God decides to end it he will end it. No sense worring about things we have no control over. Live right and you will be ok. This area has earthquake on a weekly basis.
Somebody please be sure and keep any microphones away from Pat Robertson for at least 24 hours.
Oh yeah? Well I think I just saw a locust.
That's OK, the frogs'll eat 'em.
Dude, your post and the one before it should have had a warning lable. I had soda shooting out of my nose when I read them!!
Thanks for the theology lession. I have faith, I am a practicing Roman Catholic. I believe Jesus will come again, but I do not worry about stuff I cannot control.I strive to live right and take care of my family. I do my best to be a good Christian,(Yes we Catholics are Christians) As I said before, There have been earthquakes since the begging of time, and this area is an eartquake prone region. There are quakes weekly. I live in Yuma Az and this is part of life here. A small price to pay to live in a beautiful place.
Since there have been earthquakes for eons, I doubt it.
...and God's wrath on Southern Libbifornia.
That's as ignorant as your first comment with the added benefit of being an insult to the many fine people who live here.
That was an illegal earthquake.
It crossed into the US without proper documentation.
