Anti-Terror Shocker: NYPD Shifting Cops To Streets
WCBSTV.com ^ | Apr 5, 2010 9:34 pm US/Eastern | Marcia Kramer NEW YORK (CBS) ―

SNIPPET: "Hard hit by budget cuts the NYPD has decided to fight spiking crime rates by reassigning anti-terror cops to street patrols in tough neighborhoods.

But not everyone thinks shifting patrols is a good idea.

Outside the Empire State Building, one of the top terror targets in the city, some New Yorkers were outraged by the shift and had some strong words for Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

"He's cutting down? Hmm … why is that a bad thing?" said Francisco Santos of East New York. "Because we might get bombed again? Yeah, definitely consider it a bad thing.""

SNIPPET: "The anti-terror cops are being reassigned to cope with surging crime rates -- murder up 22 percent so far this year, shootings up 19 percent. The NYPD said this is not the first time it has shifted the terror squad to other duties, but it comes as the Department has undergone a huge drop in manpower."

Budget tight, cut police, fire and teachers, all things the citizens care about. Then they will be more willing to pay more taxes.

This happens every time, only now they can use the fear of a future terrorist attack to get more taxes. If New Yorkers fall for it, they need to pay more taxes for being stupid.

I wouldn’t dare suggest what New Yorkers pay for or not pay for.

I don’t live in NY.

The jihadis have been very clear on their goals.

Whether one “fears” and/or is genuinely concerned about terrorism; that’s up to each individual to decide for themselves.

Allow concealed carry. Problem solved.

My approach would be to draw up a list of Islam's top holy sites with Mecca at the top. Then I would proclaim far and wide, in very explicit terms that could not be misunderstood that we mean no ill will to Muslims or their religion, BUT if a target like the Empire State Building, or the White House or any other major American place, thing or citizen is hit by extremists we will start working our way up the list. Put the onus for preventing attacks, and thereby saving their holy sites from destruction, directly on the shoulders of the “peace loving” Muslims.

I know it sounds like overkill, but I consider the life of a single America service person or citizen to be worth more than the goals of Muslim extremists, period. They can wreak all the havoc they want, anyplace they want, but they've got to know there will be a price to pay. Don't kid yourself, Muslims know who's doing the dirty work, and by their silence they encourage them. After a dozen or so holy sites are reduced to smoking rubble they will decide it's not worth it.

Who cares what they do in countries without the will or the way to stop them. But that's not America.

Like they say, “No better friend, no worse enemy.” Bring ALL of our troops home to the loving arms of their family and let the religion of peace figure out how to save their holy sites.

Until Muslims at every level are forced to pay a price for the actions of the extremists who have hijacked their religion it's not going to stop.

Actually, such a plan would be a great gift to the truly peace-loving Muslims. It would rid them of a cancer that has taken over their religion and is using them as silent, useful idiots. If they are sincere in their expression of Islam as a religion of love and peace they will welcome the help in cleansing it!

Ridiculous! You cannot trust the urban masses with guns. They might demand something!

What is needed are more cameras and those nifty shot-tracing devices. That will cure urban crime.

I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me.

Yet, the city is spending mega-money on installing and operating cameras at intersections which automatically issue drivers tickets for running red lights.

Priorities, ya know.

On the positive side, many of the cops on terror patrol have been re-assigned to undercover subway patrol, and are in essence killing two birds at a time.

Heavens no says the O, I won’t ever use nukes even if attacked. Good idea, working your way back to Mecca.

“I live on the West side, she lives on the East side of the stree-ee-eet
And though they say that East is East and West is West
And never the twain shall meet
Each morning I face her window and pray that our love can be
‘cause that brownstone house where my baby lives
Is Mecca (Mecca, Mecca, Mecca) Mecca (Mecca, Mecca) to me-e-e-e-e-e.” Gene Pitney

I often wondered why a religion that considers war "holy" would be the least surprised, or resentful, if, indeed, they were on the RECEIVING END OF a real war.

On the other hand, NYC is almost a marxist foreign occupying force itself. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN etc. are quite cancerous...

You missed my point. They are using the fear of terrorist to get people to pay more taxes.

My point is if they are concerned about terrorist, and they feel these special terrorist task forces are worth having, there must be other places they can cut expenses to allow them to continue them.
