In my state, folks are pretty livid and the S-word pops up more often in conversation.

Yeah, I know and the comment was “is this a trend”. So, I just heard that Stevens is also retiring and posted it because it fits in the trend of Libtards jumping off the sinking ship......’cept in Stevens case he’s 90......

So Bawney Fwank fudd is retiring. He hinted that he would like to serve two years a the end of his career as HUD Secretary so this was in the making for a while. I suspect that he thought the best way to get the nomination would be to retire because next year they would say they need him in the house and he is to valuable to appoint.

I’m curious about the real reason for all of these RATS jumping ship.

They know the seat is gone with the memorably named Dim in it, so they are swapping out for a new Dim in hopes they won't lose as many seats.

What is he scared of that he wouldn’t run for re election?

Wonder what kind of cushy Job Stupak is going to take after his retirement?

Rats appear to be pretty insecure right now. rightfully so.

This isn’t all that much of a surprise. Scott Brown won Frank’s district in Massachusetts, and apparently decisively. All of the politician’s who passed the Health Care Nightmare will be looking for a rock to crawl under, and no doubt have been handsomely Golden Parachuted for their vote.

The question is: how will this effect November? Those who voted for this are dropping like flies and will leave a host of “unknown” Democrat candidates who will be able to claim THEY didn’t vote for Health Care, Cap & Tax, the looming VAT passage. The state run media will do all it can to help these candidates Smokescreen their way to DC. I don’t know that it will pay off, but they’re going to try it: sell the “New” Democrats who have clean hands of all votes which drove out the old Democrats. Sadly, a lot of voters will likely buy into this ploy.

He’ll never go to prison. He has too many pictures of naked politicians and judges.

In light of the impending Stupak and Barney Frank ‘retirements’ this bears repeating:

Who Visits the President the Most? Union Chief, Swiss Banker & Chicago Billionaire

Boy..those swiss bank accounts that Obama set up for ‘retiring’ traitors to this country must be really sweet.../sarcasm

I would like to see more folks here on FR create an about page so we could know where “Around here” refers to without having to ask. A quick click on the user handle and a peek at the state flag can tell you a lot. OTOH, some people are more private than others. TEHO

Until it is announced from his office, don’t go overboard on rumor.

A few weeks ago, rumor circulated that Sen. Blanche Lincoln was going to make a major announcement — her retirement. Instead, she only announced that she had a re-election war chest.

The stimulus slush fund might even have to be expanded to cover it.

Not a bad idea, but come on: these people are all richer than snot. They’ve lined their pockets. It really wouldn’t have any effect. They need to be INDICTED.
