A bit more:

In the midst of an escalation in drug violence in Mexico, a small explosive device went off outside of a United States consulate in Nuevo Laredo.
Nuevo Laredo, Mexico - On Saturday, United States officials announced that a small blast was reported outside of the U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Lardeo in Mexico, according to Wire Update. There were no reports of injuries or deaths.
The small, improvised device was thrown over the fence of the U.S. Consulate General and went off at approximately 11 p.m. on Friday. The windows were broken but no one was hurt in the incident.
Until further notice, the Consulate General and the Consular Agency in Piedras Negras will be closed, “The Consulate General and Consular Agency will reopen when we are confident that we have adequate security to keep our visitors safe,” the Consulate said in a statement.
Since 2006, more than 20,000 people have died in the fight against drugs and the cartels, reports the New York Times.
