Ron Paul has been brought to prominence by his long-standing opposition to the nation's monetary system and the Federal Reserve Board that prints money and controls its supply.
Here are some of Rep. Ron Paul's most recent legislative battles.
Federal Reserve: Wants to remove the veil of secrecy over the board controlling the nation's money supply.
Government regulation: Wants Congress to sign off on any federal rule that imposes costs of $5,000 on an individual or $10,000 on a business.
Congressional pay: Seeks to end automatic annual cost-of-living pay increases for lawmakers.
Foreign policy: Opposes the U.S. military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ron Paul is a white-haired, soft-voiced, 74-year-old doctor who has twice failed in presidential campaigns and is frequently derided by his Republican colleagues as an ideologue from the party's libertarian fringe.
No one would have been surprised if the Lake Jackson congressman had slipped off the political radar after his 2008 quixotic bid for the presidency, his ambitions for higher office thwarted.

Sounds good to me. Bring home the boys and put em on the border. As for the illegals here...Head em up..Move em out.

Calling everybody in the GOP who supports L. Ron Paul:
Don't mess with Texas.
So exactly which of these battles has Ron Paul won???
Talk is one thing. But where is the result of the action?
Can anyone answer me honestly?
And back to ridicule again. Especially on statements like this.
Love Texas. L. Ron does not bring honor to Texas. Maybe a couple of Texas FReepers can shed light on how this district keeps sending the kook back to D.C.? Does he run unopposed?
Right...No one else in this region of Texas opposes the man...
Just another populist opportunist. I don’t trust him or his cult of fanatic followers.
Problem here squeaky does more damage than good with the going nowhere big talk then support filthy Rats and vote with them.
“Love Texas. L. Ron does not bring honor to Texas. Maybe a couple of Texas FReepers can shed light on how this district keeps sending the kook back to D.C.? Does he run unopposed?”
I live in his District and can tell you that Paul is very popular here. He regularly wins reelection with app. 80% of the vote in both this County and the overall District. This is one of the most Conservative and Republican Districts in the United States.
For example I am not represented by one Democrat from Texas. All of my local, County and state elected officials are Conservative Republicans. As are all of the Statewide office holders. Obama is the only Dim that “represents” me.-Yuk!
Paul is viewed as a Rebel against the Feds and runs under the banner of “The Taxpayers Best Friend”. Plus he likes “wild” shrimp! LOL! (Shrimping and fishing are vital industries in the district and if you like to go to your favorite seafood restaurant and order shrimp and other seafood you better hope they remain successful.
Less than two years since the Obamarama election circus and the GOP is setting us up once again.
Many congressmen find a safe district to squat in forever, Ron Dellums, Charlie Rangel, Ron Paul, Maxine Waters.
If you notice though, the career politician Ron Paul has never never been able to win anything outside of his district during his almost 40 year political career.
Ron Paul will finish up frozen in place in that district, Texans rejected him when he tried to run for office outside of it and lord knows that his vanity presidential runs don't get off the ground, although it must make for a nice lifestyle for a small time congressman.
Ya better take it up with those nutty liberal Texans.
You had no answer, so you disregarded the post.
Texans reject Ron Paul, as everyone does.
The only place where the career politician, Ron Paul can win, is in his district. Just like a Congressman Charlie Rangel or Congresswoman Maxine Waters, he can never win support out of it, Texans rejected his attempt at wider office.
Question:
If that is the case, how does he keep getting re-elected in Texas?
Why do the Texans there keep reelecting him?
This is an easy question. Go ahead and take a shot at it.
BTW, are you a Texan?
Apparently you have never heard of Shelia Jackson Lee. Democrat Wack job...who is ALSO from Texas.
