The reason is cultural. The women on the east coast see strong western women like Palin and Bachmann, women who hunt, fish, and vote republican, as barbarians or hillbillies. It's a whole different value system and explains why men (non-eastern men anyway) are much more comfortable with these gals who we admire for sharing OUR values.
New England is the most class ridden area of the country...Out west it is what you can do ..not your class status..
