Scott Brown camp: No snub intended
Politico ^ | April 12, 2010 | ANDY BARR

Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) was never planning to attend a tea party rally featuring Sarah Palin this week in Boston, his staff told POLITICO, and did not intend his absence to come off as a snub.

Brown spokeswoman Gail Gitcho told POLITICO that coming off of a two week legislative recess, Brown had always planned to be in Washington this week.

Brown drew notice Monday after the Boston Herald reported that Brown was skipping the rally.

In a story headlined “Scott Brown snubs Sarah Palin, bags Tea Party rally,” Herald reporter Edward Mason wrote that “Brown’s decision to skip the first big rally in Boston by the group whose members are credited with helping him win election has some experts saying he’s tossed the Tea Party overboard, as he prepares for re-election in 2012.”

The story was fodder for bloggers eager to highlight any GOP slight directed at Palin or a rift between a GOP lawmaker and the tea party movement.

Note how subtle the MSM press is:

BAGS Tea Party Event. Just has to have a veiled ‘teabagger’ reference in the headline.

Brown and Palin are miles apart politically, why would he go?

And now he’s pushed into reacting, and he does react.

I'm sure that was the intention of the story, all along. Kind of like the stories that say Sarah Palin has decided NOT to speak somewhere, and speculation begins, only to discover that she was never committed to speaking there, her name was only mentioned as being 'invited' or 'a possible speaker'.

Well we fell for that. You know the thing that hurts us all is how the media play foreground against background. They use nullification as a offensive tool to divide. We can not allow that to happen... or we need to start just making up sh!t that individual editors and administrative types have to respond to.
Let me start....

Headline: President Obama intentionally sends wife into blood soaked trip to Mexico knowing the physical dangers....

Is Hillary Clinton under investigation for bribery? ( I have no idea, it is just a creative headline)

Is Nancy Pelosi addicted to sleeping pills? ( just curious, most likely not true but is it worth making that assumption until I ask her office....?

It is a snub, and Brown is acting as if he has been in the Senate for decades already.

He has no chance at winning reelection in this state if he continues to ignore those of us who got him there.

Big mistake Scotty to not show up for this.

I'll be there.

Nothing the media says can be trusted.

Everything is left for those of us, members of FreeRepublic and other conservative members of the “new media”, to do the actual research and discovery.

The ‘State-Run-Media’ will lie and spin every single time!

No Kidding? So he isn’t the enemy? WoW, what would possibly cause a major publication to run a story like that?

I do not consider it a snub whatsoever, given that Scott will be at the Senate Armed Services Committee meeting on Iran, on Wednesday. I'd rather he be there, no matter what the rally was going on here. We elected him to be Senator... and that is what he should be doing. He can attend rallies outside of working hours.

The liberals/socialist are ALWAYS accusing us of what they are doing.

They are the real "teabaggers".
They are the real racists.
They are the real hitler-like dictators.

and on and on and on....

Some members tossed him under the bus here last night,

and you know who you are! LOL.

Professor Larry Sabado wanted to make a big deal out of Brown not attending, despite the fact, that Brown also had to decline an invitation to another local event the following day. Sabado said that, he could attend both “if he really wanted to.”

GOOD on you, Radix and I wish he were attending too.

I think it would have served him well, but the senate is in session and he would have been killed in the press over his attandance.

I don’t consider it a snub.

I do notice which politicians are at ease with the tea folk and don’t mind being classed with them.

We live in Massachusetts! What got Scott Brown elected was not exactly Palin politics. It is cowardly of him not to attend, but also pragmatic.

Of course, the Boston Herald is not biased.

Just another example of why people can no longer trust the mainstream media to publish truthful articles.

MSM lied and finally it died!!!!!

This is a No There, There story.
MSM trying to divide Conservative Republicans.

Scott doing what he needs to do as a new Senator and in commettee
And Sarah continuing her message.

One of the many areas they both share is support for the
war against the IslamOfascists.
