One of the problems with the California Initiative system is that they have to be implemented as written when passed.

Another problem is that the process assumes that initiatives are approved by an educated and informed voter.

And, the other problem with the CA initiative system is that our state legislature doesn’t do it’s job properly, which lends itself to people putting bad initiatives on the ballot in an attempt to fix problems created by them.
