When you are a Republican and adopt liberal policies - you grow. When you are a liberal and adopt constitutional policies, you are vilified.

Those "right wingers" you mention would be nothing at all like the staff of Sen. Ted Kennedy who went through everything they could to do what they could to see that Clarence Thomas was not approved to the Supreme Court.

And surely those "right wingers" would be nothing at all like the virtuous people in the Senate who actually kept Robert Bork off the Supreme Court.

Did you hear the one about New York Times and Washington Post reporters having lunch and betting on who knows more about Christianity? Mr. NYT says, "I'll bet you $20 that you can't say the Lord's Prayer." Ms. WaPo says, "You're on." She bows her head and says, "Now I lay me down to sleep. . . ."
