Citizens United Foes Seek a McCain Stand-In (McCain may attack conservatives after beating J.D.!)

Elias and other observers say that the day of reckoning for possible McCain support is Aug. 24, when Arizona voters take to the polls to decide the 2008 GOP presidential nominee’s fate against his primary opponent, GOP former Rep. J.D. Hayworth. Many observers speculate that after the primary, McCain may pivot toward the middle and could ultimately back a Schumer-Van Hollen bill.

“Perhaps he’s planning on voting for it, but because of political considerations or other things he just doesn’t want to be out front,” Elias said. “At the end of the day, it may very well be that he doesn’t want to be a proponent of it, but that’s different than saying he wouldn’t vote for it. ... It may just be that he’s saving for the last minute that decision.”

“McCain has pretty much the same problem going on right now as he did in his presidential campaign. He’s making every effort to appeal to the hard-core Republican base, and he has determined that it requires him to shift away from being a reform advocate for the time being.”

A McCain spokesman declined to comment for this article, but a Republican strategist agreed that the senator’s silence on a Citizens United bill may end as he pivots toward November.

“It’s less the substance than it is being tagged in the primary as voting against the party,” the Republican strategist said. “It’s a hard decision for him because he doesn’t want to be seen as voting against the party.”

Polling suggests that the high court’s decision is unpopular with general-election voters, the source said, and McCain is merely staying quiet to avoid being associated with Democrats while he is in the midst of the primary fight.

McCain is a pro-amnesty Democrat. People still have ZERO clue how much damage McCain Feingold caused. The Dems and Obama are in control because of it.

McAmnesty's office told me the other day He is against amnesty for illegals! LOL!!

MAY PIVOT? All this man does is kiss the behind of the LEFT WINGERS. The Conservatives of AZ best wake up and understand this man is NOT a true Conservative. NO Matter what McCain has promised, McCain will “NOT” keep any promises, such as, pushing to build the fence on the border, stopping amnesty, or having the national guard patrol our borders.

McCain gave CFR to us and what did we end up with, SOROS taking over the elections. So NO, McCain CANNOT be trusted!

WAKE UP AMERICA!!

“JD is seriously a long shot.”

No, he is not. McCain has lost 75% of his lead, while running radio ads, day and night. J.D. started his radio ads YESTERDAY.

“But then that leaves Sarah Palin utterly free to stump for JD when McCain drops his false flag.

But...but...wouldn’t that make her look DISLOYAL?!?!!!”

LOL!!

Perhaps they mean that he will be pivoting from his typical left-wing stance towards the middle.

Many observers speculate that after the primary, McCain may pivot toward the middle . . .

And, pray tell, at 74 years of age why would John McCain break character now?

You are absolutely correct regarding the incalculable damage McCain-Feingold has caused us.

The Democrat's lifelong partners, the MSM, screamed about the EVIL of money in politics simply because Republicans long had the fundraising advantage, then following McCain-Feingold when Obama lied and turned away public funding, and raised $750 million (much from foreign sources) the corrupt MSM was silent, and suddenly had no qualms about political campaign awash in evil money.

That McCain was so willing duped speaks volumes. On the other hand, the homosexual support ad by Cindy, and the rantings by Meghan should be a huge red flag to the true convictions of McCain and his household.

I think this is quite a valid concern; whether anything other than working for the election of JD can be done about it is another story.

Even if Hayworth wins the primary, McCain will remain a major problem for conservatives.

If there is a Republican blow-out this November, you can count on the Democrat leadership to call a lame-duck session. The intent will be to pass amnesty, cap & tax and any other radical legislation -- while they still can.

Defeated Democrats will be asked to vote for the legislation -- because "they no longer have anything to lose", plus they will be bribed with jobs and "campaign contributions". And McCain is somebody who would be prone to vote with them, simply as a means of poking the stick in our eye one more time...

So, where is the Conservative rally around JD Hayworth? I haven’t seen it yet. The Conservatives in Arizona have until August 28th to step-up and make their voices heard. Complaining on August 29th will be too late.

Speaking here in KS, it sounds like anti-McCain conservative voters need to commence holding rallies at each of McCain's offices (and Capitol) declaring McCain to be "against full employment for thousands of legal Americans (his Amnesty pushes);" anti-First Amendment (McCain/Feingold);" "anti-SMALL business (global warming regulations and taxes);" his"soft on terrorism stance (his "torture doesn't work" garbage),and every other anti-conservative position that he's taken over the years.

McCain protesters need not carry JD signs just signs that AZ voters have "had enough of McCain and the elected elite" it's time to return to "citizen legislators" who will return home and acutally LIVE under the laws, regulations and constraints to freedom. They need to stand strong against the "Permanent Elected Class (the PECs like Pelosi, Reid, et al)" who do not have to live under the laws he's voted for.

I strongly believe that AZ voters who've had enough of McCain but fear that he's the only strong military vote in Congress (which is not at all correct but what with the conservatives who've stood on the stage with him, gives one the impression that he really IS strong on terrorism.)

“Soft” on terrorism? McCain was a notorious supporter of the al-Qaeda terrorists in Kosovo and Albania during the 1990s!
