This whole thing stinks of the typical response by Country-club republicans who are still hanging on to power. They are an older generation who finds this whole episode embarrassing and blame the innocent young people. I can just hear them, "It must be their (Allee & boyfriend) fault because this never happened me and I've been in politics for years." They cannot accept the political climate has changed. It's better to sweep this under the rug then bring further embarrassment to them.

I deal with this group of elderly elephants on a local level. They are stuck in the 50's where politics was polite conversation, the GOP was a glamorous group of people sipping cocktails and looking down their noses at everyone.

My apologies to my elders here who have adapted and now actively fight the good fight, I don't want to group you with the country-club set.

I think your comment might make the most sense of any. I’ve tried and tried to understand RINO thinking, and this simple explanation might make the most sense. They are from the day when politics was a polite debate tournament, not a down & dirty fight for our lives and liberty.
