Video of the Taliban taking over the Korengal Valley in Afghanistan
Once again, lies from the top are exposed - this time very quickly.
McCrystal - following orders - pulled our troops out of the Korengal Valley, where they were ALWAYS under-manned and under-equipted but fought, bled, and many died - as brave, as dedicated and as fierce as any soldiers of any time.
And the whole country will soon see and read just what these troops sccomplished and what they experienced (A movie, a book, an audio CD book and an enhanced CD book - see link).
When the base was ordered to be abandoned, which was carried out just 5 days ago, we were told it was for the new strategy - and that this valley was of no strategic value - just local, tribal folk - NO TALIBAN. (Tell that to the troops who fought the Taliban there daily.)
We who know of the Korengal, aka "Taliban Central", knew different. (It's the valley where the 5 Navy Seals were sent in alone in 2005 - before troops and firebases were put in - and we all know the tragedy that befell the seals. But do you remember WHY they were inserted in the first place?
Because Bin Laden had been spotted there. He was often in the Valley - he and his troops.
And firebases were later estabished to control the valley and drive the Taliban out because they used it a supply route from Pakistan to the cities - primarily Kabul. Obama finally sent 20,000 of the 30,000 'surge' troops asked for last fall. NOT ONE soldier was sent to the Korengal. NOT ONE. The troops in the Korengal were never given the men and equiptment to subdue the valley. They were there to draw fire from the Taliban - that is a stated fact.
And now, they pulled them out, and just handed it back to the Taliban - the 'non-existant' Taliban, who were crawling all over the base within hours - probably minutes - of the pullout.
I can testify to you that this is being felt as an incredible slap in the face to those who fought so valiently and loyally there, under incredible deprivations - far from the nearest FOB, no running water, no electricity, etc etc. Isolated and under constant fire.
You will see the story of BATTLE Co, from the 173rd AIRBORNE, who were deployed there for 15 inhumane months...and who experienced over 1,000 firefights.

FYI
Who's orders?
Why did this happen? Why weren’t the military allowed to do what they’re supposed to do? Another Viet Nam. I hate it and I am angry and disgusted.
You have the Muslim Brotherhood (saudis) moles throughout the US govt and defense dept thanks to O. My guess is intel is being sent to the Taliban and Al Qeada. It goes along with the Rules of (non)Engagement. The Dems and usurper want to just see American troops killed in Iraq and Afghan. The Joint Chiefs are useless.
Where did $700 million come from in 2008 to elect..... There are a few people on FR foolish enough to think the Saudis are our allies.
Also some who have attacked LTC Lankin (?) the doctor for not following orders.
Put the pieces together.
who’s orders?
Who is CIC?
You think this new strategy isn’t sanctioned from the top?
Too bad the govt. is full of traitors, from the top on down.
I believe it may be more a case of their being caught between a rock and a hard place.
Our soldiers patroled the valley and the towns - and when they returned to base, the Taliban would filter in.
Villagers knew that if they aided the soldiers, their lives would not be worth much...although they often did help.
But they could never be assured that we wouldn't pull out and leave them at the mercy of the Taliban - and retribution would be fatal for any known to have aided the Americans.
It's called survival.
We weren't allowed to win the Valley, only create a presence...at the loss of 42 of America's finest.
And then they were made to pull out.
And will the same Taliban not still have to be fought - only closer to - or IN - Kabul. Is ceding the countryside to the Taliban, keeping our troops only in the urban areas, a winning strategy?
We shall see.
It sounds as though the lack of real effort was happening becore 0bummer got elected. I can certainly understand why 0thugga wants the Taliban to win and our military to lose. But it sounded as though it’s been mis-handled for a longer time. I’ll be happy to be corrected.
That's what you said, or at the very least implied.
But it could have been corrected by giving them even 100 of those new troops AND more equipment and untied their hands.
But we have someone in charge now who is reveres Islam -
I fear this is not going to end well, when you combine it with the other recent moves - AGAINST Israel and soft on Iran - etc
YOU tell me - do you think it was done WITHOUT the go ahead of the CIC?
One other reason to get the jackal out of the White House.
can’t be to soon - and yes, ‘Jackal”
It’s going to be a race to save this country
You said ordered.
Which is it?
What exactly IS your problem?
Seems to me that there are not people classified as “civilians” at the ex US post, only Taliban supporters, so bomb the sh!t out of it, and be on our way.
Child killed?, oops sorry, that’s war!
I'll try again: Are you saying that President Obama ordered General McChrystal to withdraw our forces from the Korengal Valley?
A simple yes or no will suffice.
