All sin is an offense and disobedience against God. There is no such thing as a "good sin." However, each sin has a greater or lesser "offense value." If I steal a quarter from you, it doesn't have the same "offense value" as the sin of abortion.
Public schools in and of themselves are in no way, shape or form the moral equivalents of abortuaries.
How about the internet? One can't say that the internet is satanic because it can give access to satanic things. There are also good and even holy things to be accessed on the net.
In other words, there are things that are intrinsically evil, e.g., satanic or pornographic websites and abortuaries, and things that can be used for good or misused for bad, e.g., the internet or public schools.
Theft may not have the same "offense value" as Murder, but they're both on the Big Ten.
We dare not lose our sense of Moral Horror at the idea that Stealing from the citizenry to support compulsory Government Schools, is somehow NOT a grave crime against God.
How about the internet? One can't say that the internet is satanic because it can give access to satanic things. There are also good and even holy things to be accessed on the net.
All sought out voluntarily, without Government compulsion, and without being funded by Theft.
I'm not forced to subsidize it, as I am the Government Schools.

No. This is still incorrect.
Public Schools are intrinsically evil, because they are funded by Theft. Period.
Their very existence violates and profanes the Eighth Commandment.
There is a clear dividing line shaping up on FR between those who want to use Federal Government power toward their own goals, and those who want to reduce that power across the board.
Count me firmly in the second camp. It would be every bit as wrong for the Fed Gov to -mandate- school prayer as to -forbid- it.
