US clears 2nd Navy SEAL in Iraqi abuse case

A U.S. military judge has cleared a Navy SEAL of wrongdoing in the alleged beating of a prisoner suspected of masterminding the grisly 2004 killings of four American contractors in Iraq.

The military says the judge found insufficient evidence to convict Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Keefe on charges of dereliction of duty.

No, it’s not bad news.

These GI’s just got shot in the back, by virtue of having their careers endangered for risking their lives capturing animals - they will now accidentally ‘let one get away’ to prevent having to put their career, reputation and rank on the line.

The Administration couldn’t have done a better job aiding the enemy, if they gave our GI’s blanks instead of bullets.

Two cleared, one to go.

Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas, 29, of Blue Island, Ill., was acquitted by a six-member U.S. military jury at Camp Victory in Baghdad on Thursday April 22.

The court martial of Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew McCabe of Perrysburg, Ohio, is scheduled to be held May 3 in Virginia. Please keep Matthew and his family in prayer until then.

I don’t have any first-hand knowledge, but I’d say after the Haditha Marine case that the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps needs a good cleaning out. There’s a lot of, well, lawyers in there who need to go. I presume that some of the same people were involved with the Seals—again, just a presumption.
