No End In Sight For Palin E-mail Hacking Case
WDEF News ^ | April 29, 2010 | Joe Legge

Posted on 04/29/2010 9:32:58 AM PDT by Slings and Arrows

As a federal jury began a third day of deliberating, it shows no sign a verdict is near in the trial of a former University of Tennessee student accused of hacking Sarah Palin's e-mail.

There were no smiles among the six women and six men when they came back into court Wednesday after deliberating four felony charges against 22-year-old David Kernell.

Palin's e-mail was hacked shortly after she was picked in 2008 to be on the Republican presidential ticket.

I agree. They have a contaminated jury and at least one Palin hating moron on it.

some leftist scumbag on the jury...

I'd be willing to bet he also lied through his teeth, by not disclosing information to the attorneys/Judge, just so he could get on the jury.

The case itself sounds like it was very short.

And yes there probably are some anti-Palin Democrats who did not disclose their personal biases before being seated.

The accused has previously admitted to the crime. Must be a damn fine hotel the jury is staying at. Maybe there’s a great buffet and a heated swimming pool too.

Otherwise, any delay here makes no sense at all.

Just like the DC jury that wouldnt convict Hinkley for the attempted murder of Ronald Reagan.

Of course in that case, I doubt it was just one leftist scumbag.

The jury deliberation should have been a no-brainer. i exp[ected a quick verdict and a relative easy sentence, like 5 years. Given that the little rat has no priors and is the son of a pol, he would walked out of prison in less than two relative short years.

In fact, the prosecution’s open-and-shut case originally led me to believe the jerk would cop a plea and get off with only probation and community service. But he pleaded not guilty and has made some arrogant remarks during the trial, so he and Daddy must know something that we just suspect.

They have a friend (at least one) on the jury.

I was thinking of an NYC jury acquiting Limerick Nelson for murdering Yankel Rosenbaum. (Although not on that scale, of course.)

Deliberations favor the defendant.

I am looking to jury nulification now.

I was on a jury for someone who jumped bail. Can you believe it took 2 days of deliberation to find him guilty?

Sentencing was part of that.

I thought the attorneys for both sides got a list of potential jurors with brief bios. If that’s the case here, it would have been easy enough to determine any political activism on the part of any in the pool (i.e., donations, party work, etc).

But then you get jurors through, like Russert’s fan/neighbor who was allowed on the Scooter Libby jury, and never disqualified, or the trial not declared null and void even after that revelation.
