PHOENIX, April 30 (UPI) -- Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., trails among conservative voters in his re-election bid but holds the overall edge over his opponent, a new poll indicates.

McCain holds a 46 percent-to-36 percent advantage over primary challenger J.D. Hayworth, a former U.S. representative who has challenged McCain's conservative credentials, the Public Policy Polling released Thursday indicated.

Hayworth has a 46 percent-to-38 percent edge over McCain among conservatives, but his advantage is offset by McCain's 60 percent-to-15 percent lead among GOP moderates, the poll indicated.

As soon as McQueeg gets re-elected, watch him switch to the RAT Party.

I say BS. Another phony Dem financed poll like the one Soros did through Daily Kos. McCain is going to lose.

Actually any candidate of McCain's caliber that is running under 50% is in trouble as undecideds almost universally break for the challenger. It's still an uphill climb for Hayworth, but this election if far from over.

I also noticed that Rasmussen’s Pres Daily Approval poll is up at a disturbing -8. Do you think this is feedback from the AZ Illegal Alien enforcement law?

“As soon as McQueeg gets re-elected, watch him switch to the RAT Party.”

EXACTLY!

He'll immediately extend amnesty to ILLEGALS like McPain wanted before. Thank God, finance reform was struck down. MONEY IS A VOICE McPain. We also do't want GAYS OPENLY sering in the military, McPain!

Now if Sarah Palin would STOP ENDORSING RINO’s and be a conservative that stood on PRINCIPLES, I'd view her differently. It's the “buddy system”, as Palin is demonstrating that keeps RINO'S alive in the GOP.

PPP is a very liberal polling group.

My take is JD is continuing to surge and the liberals are trying their best to save Juan McAmnesty.

The story behind the story:

2 out of 3 Arizona conservatives oppose McCain

Now, if you can get to 3 out of 3 ... a real message will be sent!

The sad thing is that if ALL conservatives actually voted for Hayworth, it wouldn’t matter what the “moderates” wanted. But people don’t show up at the polls.

You are only prohibited in voting in either the D or R Presidential primary. All other primaries you just select the ballot you want.

We have open primaries in most states, that's how we got stuck with McCain in the last election.
