Rarely are currency exchange rates as good for the American dollar as that of Asian countries. In Asia, the American dollar carries a lot of clout and with the recent devaluation of the USD; it is a good thing that these countries offer an excellent trip for so little cost to Americans.

Enjoy this. This is the piece I had researched and put a lot of effort into this. I hope it gives FReepers here a couple good travel ideas.

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t get past you starting out with the really expensive country of Japan as an example of low-cost Asian travel. 93 Yen to a dollar is a horrible exchange rate and makes Japan expensive for an American. Then in the first paragraph you confused Japanese Yen with Chinese Yuan. Fail. I didn’t even go on to the second page.

starting out with the really expensive country of Japan I use Marriott properties on my frequent travels:

 Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Sapporo, Japan
 Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Sapporo, Japan
 $107.00 per night

That seems pretty reasonable to me.

I'm looking into renting five of these bungalows near a Thai College.
One for me, and one each for four Thai College girls.
Their sub-rental to be due on sequential weeks thoughout the month.
For example: Bungalow 1 due the 1st week, bungalow 2 due the 2nd week, etc.
An alternate payment method will be available.
The total rent for all five is less than my current US House Payment.

I don’t know. There are several FReepers that are already living there, so maybe they’ll know.

No problem with gun (pistol) ownership in the PI. The S&W 649 is a good choice due to humidity and ease of finding .38 cal +P ammo. Also, a lot of good leathersmiths for belt/holster work.

Actually when you think about it, almost everything is legal in Thailand. Actually almost everything is illegal. Getting the laws enforced is another issue.
