You were saying ...

I didn’t see the part where LDS is mentioned.

I just got back (was out for a little bit) -- and thanks for calling that to my attention... I didn't think that article I posted in Post #12 was on the excerpt list, but apparently it was....

Ahhh..., I found it on the no excerpt list ... ooops... :-)

Free Republic says ... "they will only allow the posting of titles and links." So, here's the title and link ...

Records show accused foster father bypassed state prior to sex charges

The quote that I posted (I won't quote it, but I'll put it in my own words what was said ...) -- it was that the husband and wife were members of the Mormon church, and they didn't go through official channels to do this -- but went through their connections in the church (sounds like all their "buddies" in the Mormon church) to do this with kids ...

According to the article, the foster father had more than 80 counts/charges against him dropped in 2005, even though he was licensed with the state Children, Youth and Families Department. And he continued assaulting the foster daughter even then.

Several other sources said that Mortensen (and his wife Lisa) fostered about 50 kids during the last 20 years.

This girl (and apparently other girls) were placed privately with the Mortensens, apparently with their Mormon church "unofficial connections" and with the kids' families. It said that it was done outside of the state agency and done through private and/or religious organizations.

It says that the Mortensens didn't go through the actual "church system" but went through connections that they had with Mormons in the church.

Mortensen used an error in church baptismal records to justify his actions, apparently convincing the girls that he could have sex with them, according to the church documentation. The church itself said it denied any "direct" connection with the Mortensens in carrying this out.

The wife was also involved with kids, too..., in the social work field, which may have made it easier for them to get these girls involved with Mortensen.

Apparently Mortensen continued to have foster daughters (and apparently continued his sexual relations with them, maybe even using church records or the influence of the teachings of the church [but not "direct" church involvement] in getting those foster girls to have sexual relations with him. It seems that the families who adopted the girls out to the Mortensens also paid for the Mortensens to "take care of the girls" ...

And also, apparently it's not illegal for families to make these kinds of "private arrangements" with other families for the care of their daughters, so for those who have this kind of "mindset" about procreating with girls in future "universes" that they control -- this may be a temptation too much for them to resist in the "here and now" ... I would say.

Anyway, this was all reworded in my own words, since the article itself cannot be quoted directly -- but one can access the article directly through the link ... :-)

Well that is just terrible. I would put him in a room full of rocking chairs and 10 or 20 Long Tail Cats.
