Republican voters want Congress to repeal the healthcare overhaul, arent convinced that climate change is happening, and dont think illegal immigrants should have a way to become citizens or that President Barack Obama has improved the United States global standing all stances that put them at odds with the majority of voters, according to a new survey by Resurgent Republic.
The findings, unveiled at a Tuesday morning panel by the group, highlight a major challenged faced by Republicans headed into the 2010 election cycle: While their base appears more motivated than that of the Democrats, they will have to find ways to address hot-button issues like healthcare, immigration and climate change that do not alienate critical independent and swing voters.
Resurgent Republic, a 501(c)4 non-profit founded by GOP operative Ed Gillespie, provides polling and research intended to assist conservatives and Republicans. Though no consensus emerged among its panel members, some suggested messaging solutions included calling for amending rather than repealing the healthcare overhaul, talking about legalization rather than amnesty in any discussion about providing illegal immigrants a path to citizenship, and not denying that climate change is taking place.

Sounds like they need to go out and educate the voters and stop capitulating to the enemies.
Nice try.
I could not agree more. Total BS!
Yeah, we need more Rinos....to get voted out.
Yeah. The GOP needs cavities and earaches too.

“will have to find ways to address hot-button issues like healthcare, immigration and climate change that do not alienate critical independent and swing voters. “
This is a stupid statement.
I think at this point most independents agree with the Republicans on these issues.
I think that for once the Republicans are doing it just right, to water down their message is to lose the election.

What polls is this nitwit reading? Last I checked 55% (the percentage in favor of repealing Obamakare) is a majority, with similar numbers opposing amnesty-into-citizenship, and doubting AGW.
Of course, he could mean “a majority of non-Republican voters”, which isn’t very interesting since that concentrates the barking moonbats in the comparison group.

Hello David Axelrod!!!! How you doing buddy!!!!
Yes after all the RINOs have done so much for us.
This is propaganda bullsh1t.
I guess it depends on one’s definition of a RINO. If we loaded up the Senate with people like Hutchison (lifetime ACU rating of 90%), versus, say Evan Bayh - who is, for some reason, called a “moderate” (at 22%) - then yes, give me a Senate full of RINOs!!

It’s a survey. Read the article and see the linked survey.
This guy writing this piece of work is delusional IMO.
Well, of course.
Opposition to the current regime needs every vote possible.
I will willingly vote with ANYBODY to get the current crop of socialists out of office.
Ideological purity is for dreamers. This is a mud fight.
Oh Lord, save me from these fools.
