Cameron makes last ditch appeal to Labour voters (why not UKIP voters?)
The Telegraph ^ | 5-06-2010 | Christopher Hope

The Tory leader delivered a stinging attack on Labour’s “disgraceful and negative campaigning” as he addressed a crowd of 50 supporters outside a primary school in Newtown, Montgomeryshire.

At the end of his 36-hour campaign push across the UK, Mr Cameron pledged that a Conservative government would “take everyone with us: the frail, the elderly, the vulnerable, poorest – we know they need protection.”

Claims from Labour that the Conservatives were planning to take payments from pensioners, benefits from families were “simply not true”. He said: “They should be ashamed of the negative campaign they are fighting.”

The Tories are hoping that local farmer Glyn Davies can unseat prominent Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik.

Mr Cameron told the crowd: “We have just got a few hours left to bring our country a new Government and save our country from another five years of Gordon Brown.

“We don’t have to put up with what we have got. Britain and Wales could do so much better than we have now.”

He gave warning that a vote for either Labour or the LibDems would mean “five more years of Gordon Brown”.

Because to win a majority he must take seats from Labour.

Even if every UKIP voter were to vote Tory instead, the Conservatives still need to take a lot of seats lost to Labour in 1997.

Cameron makes Susan Collins look like Thatcher. Hung parliament may be the best thing.

Very true.

I think they will do pretty well, but won’t have a solid majority. We might see another election this year in the UK.

Apparently Cameron hired a number of Obama advisors including Anita “Mao is my favoorite philosopher” Dunn. He’s talking all about hope and change and The Sun has him on the cover today in that Obama “HOPE” poster that everyone knows. He supports global warming 100% and said his helath policy can be summed up in 3 letter, NHS. In the US, he’d probably considered a DLC type dem. I guess he’s better than Brown, though.
