“I’m gonna guess suicide from the tone of the article.”

Yes, it sounds that way, and it’s tragic. I knew a young man who did this on the anniversary of the day his father did it. He was smart and handsome and could have had the world by the tail. Horrible. It makes me wonder, how many people on this board have thought about suicide at some point in their lives? Just curious.

I agree. Except that no one ever has the world by the tail. There’s always something.

Right about November 3rd, 2008 I'm sure there was a rash of people thinking about offing themselves.

I remember some vanities where you could tell the poster had been contemplating harming themselves in some way. FReepers come out in force on those posts.

Personally, the worst hurt I ever experienced was at the hand of the fairer sex. Fortunately all I had to do to get me over the particularly rough parts was to think about my family and how much I love them. My five sisters in particular as well as my nieces and nephews.

But some people who seem to have everything in the world, in actuality, think they have nothing. So sad.
