Crime Inc. II: Why You Should Care

Last Thursday I laid out in detail the money laundering scheme centered on Cap and Trade that Glenn Beck exposed, known as Crime Inc. (click here for a chart summary). Hopefully, you did not get lost in the intricate details and were able to see how the numerous progressive organizations were connected and even linked to the White House and President Obama. What I did not go into was why you should care. Most Americans have no idea Crime Inc. or things like it are going on. Many others probably do not see how it is relevant to their daily lives. I would like to show you how this issue is not only very relevant to all Americans, but also why corruption like this would be rare at best if we were still following our founding principles.

Our federal government has drifted so far from the founding principles of our nation that founders such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and even Alexander Hamilton would be appalled. Specifically, the idea of laissez-faire, which means an economy free from government intervention, seems to be a distant memory in American history. The federal government has, through unchecked power, stuck its dirty hands in almost every aspect of the economy – mostly over the past 100 years. This widespread intervention of the federal government has caused countless unintended consequences, the most notable being corruption.

A free market will by nature always adapt to the conditions. The simplest example of that is the law of supply and demand. Understanding that, it is then without question that when the government gets involved in the free market, there must be consequences. The problem is not really government’s good intentions, but rather the unintended consequences that always follow what it is trying to do.

Some of the unintended consequences of government intrusion come from those looking to take advantage of the situation, for either money or power. For their donations or support, businesses look for special favors such as regulation to help set up barriers for competition, or bailouts should their greedy business plan not work out. Interest groups form to sway politicians their way through bribes. And then there are job positions within the government that are awarded to friends and family. Every single one of those situations is inherently dangerous, but when you combine them you have mass corruption.

Consider the mortgage industry as a glaring example as to what happens when the government gets involved. We all know what happened in the case of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The government wanted to keep the loan market flowing and to promote home ownership for low-income families. This intrusion resulted in the near collapse of the entire American economy. Greed in all levels of the industry, massive fraud, and plain lack of business sense given that the government was the lender of last resort, were all the result of the government’s good intentions.

The situation is no different with progressive organizations that make up Crime Inc. Flooded with tax-payer dollars in the name of the global warming, the environment, and green jobs, the government is feeding the corruption. The big problem with the issue of Crime Inc. is that it has the goal of fundamentally changing this great nation to something closer resembling socialism or communism. Who do you think will be running the show if that happens? If Cap and Trade becomes law, you can bet that the very progressives and radical liberals that made up this scheme will be the ones at the top, getting rich, while the rest of America is sucked dry.

It was not always like this. In our nation’s infancy, federal government intrusion short of taxation was almost non-existent. The reason being was because our Founding Fathers knew all too well how government influence in various aspects of men’s affairs had the inherent potential to become dangerous. Their firsthand experience with tyranny is what caused them to write the Articles of Confederation very close to the point of anarchy. They later decided that some central government was necessary with the Constitution, but it is very important to understand their specific intentions of limited government was to make sure corruption and tyranny never took root again in America.

It is detrimental, for the survival of the free market system that has allowed America to grow from rugged colonies to the greatest, most powerful country the world has ever witnessed, that we completely eliminate the federal government from unnecessary involvement in the economy. With government intervention in the economy out of the picture, taxpayer funded corruption would be almost non-existent. However, the only way that can be done is through an enlightened electorate that well understands the problem we face. Then we can begin the constructive discussion of how to move America back on the laissez-faire course that was set by our Founding Fathers.

When one considers the great intellect, wisdom, understanding and foresight of America's Founders--all directed toward preserving the liberty of rising generations, one must conclude that their worst fears are being realized as this foolish President "transforms" America into a debtor nation, making slaves of all citizens and snuffing out the light of liberty for his own posterity--indeed, for all the world.

Justice Joseph Story said of the Constitution of the United States:

"The structure has been erected by architects of consummate skill and fidelity; its foundations are solid; its components are beautiful, as well as useful; its arrangements are full of wisdom and order, and its defenses are impregnable from without. It has been reared for immortality, if the work of man may justly aspire to such a title. It may, nevertheless, perish in an hour by the folly, or corruption, or negligence of its only keepers, THE PEOPLE. Republics are created by virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens."

If America's citizens, who are the constitutional KEEPERS of the Constitution, do not act soon to reverse the reckless plunge this Administration is taking toward undoing the Founders' protections for liberty, then future generations may never know or experience their heritage of liberty.

One that seems to be getting overlooked is Cameron Davis. He was once a board member with the Joyce Foundation at the same time he was president and CEO of the Alliance for the great lakes (May still be president)

Today, Davis is Great Lakes Czar and controls billions of taxpayer dollars with virtually no oversight.

In our raw, natural resources-rich rural county, the natural resource economic sector has been systematically dismantled by regulation over the past 20 years. First there was the spotted owl and its impact on the timber industry. Then the greens discovered salmon and sucker fish and have been dismantling agriculture. Last year, they took down gold mining.

I did some background research on our two national monument designations and found the following on the Treasured Landscape Initiative. This is linked with climate change as an alleged motive and will put millions of federal acres off limits from use. Then the Land Trusts and conservancies will sweep in and acquire adjacent private land from “willing sellers” bullied by having their access roads closed or gated. http://www.sisqtel.net/armstrng/monument.htm

The depth of King Obama and his corrupt communist machine is unbelievable. America got shot in its foot and was asleep. King Obama never should have been elected since this con smooth talker told us what he was all along. How could Americans be fooled with his shi! is beyond me. Like little sheep that were so ignorant they could not read between the lines of crap he was pitching.

Despots always tell the “electorate” exactly what they are. Americans naively think the Constitution is some sort of Wall to stop these people from ruining America. The years,decades actually that the evil ones have been throwing mud on the consitution have now rendered the document in real danger of being destroyed. Notice his SC appointees don’t even adher to the tenets of the Document.

The problem is not really government’s good intentions, but rather the unintended consequences that always follow what it is trying to do.
Hope people remember that on election days leaders are required not people who just do a hey let’s try this.
