I have zero respect for McCain. The best thing he ever did was pick Sarah Palin as a running mate and put her in the limelight.

I don't believe there's a chance in hell he picked her - he was told. And he hated it, and undermined her, and then threw the election for Obama in absolute defiance and rage.

Good lord, what a putrid liar. All those years to do something, anything, and the McCain plan was Amnesty II. Do the right thing, John. Retire.

All states have a national guard , but all national guard units are under Federal control. Arizona would have to ask obama’s permission use use Arizona troops on the border. Ain’t gonna happen! Some states have militias but most of those are unarmed, I don’t know about Arizona. Could you believe the uproar that would happen if Arizona or any other border state sent state troops to the border. Maybe it’s time for the border states to stand up to obama and do what is right for the state. IF just one state stands up and hoists the battle flag others will follow.

Just got off the phone with someone from JD Hayworth’s camp and they are confident they are going to win...I’m not seeing it, but I sure hope so! There’s a spoiler, Jim Deakins in the race. He’s become a thorn in everyone’s side and he won’t drop out. I’m going to see him on Monday and it will be very, very interesting as Mohave County is JD land!

So, in other words, McCain is a treasonous bastard par excellence.

Absolutely no question about it. McCain was never fit for public office because he was psychologically tainted meat after his captivity by the Communists. His subsequent behavior proves that, and he is indeed, a traitor: the reasons why are irrelevant.

One can only hope, McCain has a bottomless bucket of money to spend.

Does the state of Arizona not have its own National Guard? Why not call out the State Militia???

There is, of course, an Arizona National Guard. A pretty damn good one, as a matter of fact.

However, if the Governor calls them up, the state will have to pay. And it won't be cheap.

Alas, the state has no money. Napolitano spent it all, before she went to Washington.

Gov. Brewer has asked Obama to provide the funds for a call-up, but the feds have not been forthcoming.

Nor will they, apparently, lift a finger.

And that's where things stand...

Could there be danger in his losing the primary in that he would push through a shamnisty bill since there would be no electoral consequences for him?

If there is a bloodbath this November, count on Harry and Nancy to call a lame duck session in December -- to get what they weren't able to get this summer.

Given all the defeated Democrats with nothing to lose, it's got a chance to be a very successful venture. And, if McCain is defeated, you can count on him trying to exact vengeance on the electorate.

December, 2010 has a chance to be the Republic's most dangerous moment.

That aside, I still think Reagan could have used his executive office & commander-in-chief status to clamp down on the border, but instead he did very little if at all to secure the border.

With all due respect, I think Reagan may have been more concerned with the USSR than with Mexico.
