Come to think of it, I rather like Tammy Bruce, too. I probably don’t agree with her on everything. She’s maybe more libertarian than I am.

I didn’t know who Tammy Bruce was before I read this thread, but I do know when people sign up on day one with a handle “neocon-somethingorother” and on day two, post what is obviously designed to provoke a homosexual-bashing response.

Most conservatives couldn’t give a rat’s ass what people do in the privacy of their homes, it is the effort to make a civil rights effort out of it, force it into our everyday lives, indoctrinate children and create a special class of victimhood that raises hackles.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes in the concept of American Exceptionalism, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that we should have some guidelines as to who we allow into this country, and that we should control it, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes there are things worth fighting for, and maintaining a strong military to do so is an important necessity and not an inconvenience that is grudgingly tolerated for political reasons only, while it and the people in it are resented because it is money taken away from things like PBS and the NEA, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that American workers should get to keep more of their own money and give less of it to the government because we are a better judge of what should be done with money we earn, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that granting terrorists rights accorded to us as American citizens is a shockingly shallow, shortsighted and unconstitutional slap in the face of people to whom being an American really means something, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that minimizing the red tape, taxation and government regulation of industry is a surefire way to revitalize American industry, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that the US Constitution is one of the most profound, well designed charters of government ever created by the hand of man, and that adherence to it should be aggressively mandated by Supreme Court Justices who are strict constructionists, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that every citizen has the right to own, carry and use firearms with a minimum of government interference, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that big oil companies play a vital role in getting gas for our cars, diesel for our trucks and home heating oil for our winter heating needs, and it is criminal, national suicided to handcuff those companies by allowing environmentalists to dictate conditions where they are forced to drill through a mile of water and six miles of the earth’s crust when it could be done cheaper and easier and safer in shallow water or on land while demonizing them and taxing them and us to use their products, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce believes that “affirmative action” is racism, and just because it is practiced in a different direction doesn’t make it right, she is okay with me.

If a person like Tammy Bruce gets a lump in her throat on Memorial Day, takes off her ball cap when the flag goes by, holds her hand over her heart and says the Pledge of Allegiance aloud in a strong voice in a crowd, she is okay with me.

I don’t care who Tammy Bruce sleeps or cavorts with. That is her business.

But if there were more people in this country of ours who believed as the Tammy Bruce described above did, then can anyone argue we wouldn’t be much better off for it regardless of whether she has sex with women or men? Who would care?

(Note: this was rhetorical...I don’t have any idea what Tammy Bruce believes in, and am not saying that she subscribes to all or even any of these viewpoints...)
