I know what you mean. Several women in my family have had breast cancer, I don’t know any family that hasn’t been affected by it. EVERYONE wants EVERY type of cancer cured and but if a cure is their goal, the Komen Foundation shouldn’t be spending money on ANYTHING else.
In one way, being in nonprofit, I don’t have a problem with paying some overhead. I do have an issue with chapter offices of national 501c3s as I worked in one and know that they are much more corporate than not. And then giving $$$ to organizations outside of the mission...the least they could do is help pay off victims’ expenses. All the way around, it’s not a good way to run things, sexy disease or not.
