WASHINGTON (AP) - Chalk up another win for the tea party. And another embarrassment for the Republican establishment. Tea party favorite and two-term state lawmaker Raul Labrador defeated Vaughn Ward, a Marine reservist heavily recruited by national Republicans, in Idaho's primary on Tuesday. Ward's loss comes on the heels of several other races in which GOP establishment candidates stumbled as the anti-Washington mood takes hold. National Republicans had coached Ward and had made him one of their first named recruits, known as "Young Guns." He also had the backing of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. On Wednesday, the GOP wasn't talking about Ward.

Ward was an excellent choice. The other clown is a immigration lawyer.

I was for Ward. Hopefully this Labrador isn’t a lap dog.

Yeah, if Palin wants a political future, or even to remain credible with conservatives, she needs to carefully consider whose wagon she hitches to, from here on out.

I think he’s OK, but I’m very leery of his weasel words on immigration.

Ward was an excellent choice in terms of resume, but he wasn’t ready for prime time. He plagaized from other peoples’ speeches, including President Obama, and on one occasion, he claimed that Puerto Rico was an independent country.

Pallin’s judgment, at some point, has to be called into question by more than just a few conservative on this site.

From what I understand, it wasn’t him, but his “help” that screwed him over. Nevertheless, that still proves he wasn’t ready for prime time, I reckon. Though hearing him speak, he was quite excellent.

“Allegations of plagiarism surfaced as Ward was caught using issue papers from other campaigns and then, during the final days before the primary, it was discovered he used President Barack Obama’s 2004 speech to the Democratic National Committee to launch his GOP campaign.”

Plagiarism will sink you every time. Well, unless you’re Joe Biden or Doris Kearns Goodwin...

Now the Tea Party needs to beat Dino Rossi and Fiorina.

I don’t believe she is the hitcher; I believe she is the Hitchee. I agree, though, she needs to be careful...

IF THE MSM-AP-OBAMA BOOTLICKERS are angry at the winner, then Ward must be the right choice.

Sarah’s entire family endorsed Vaughn Ward last year..who died and made you decider of who is right to endorse and who is wrong to endorse. He is a good guy, not his fault he lost. A lot of people here support Ward, read the thread and how many supported him.

Hey I don’t support every person she does, its her decision, but to bash her because this guy lost is ridiculous. She doesn’t have to endorse everyone the tea party endorses, she doesn’t speak for them. They are their own people who can make up their own minds. Her family endorsed Ward over a year ago
