It’s more than a bump. Oftentimes I’ll sight it in, set it in the “public” stand by my stuff, and someone will walk along and clumsily knock their hard cases into it or knock it over. It’s happened more times than I like to count, but it’s really never “bad.” I’m just very particular about my sighting, and if that happens, I generally double-check to make sure it’s not been thrown off too bad.
And yes, I need to zero it in at longer ranges, but the only local range is indoor for me. I have an 8mm Mauser and several Mosin’s that I can shoot 1” groups at 300 yds on a bench with iron sights pretty consistently. The .308 is the only gun I have with a scope.
If you have the money, get an AR or two,
if not, get an AK clone/variant or two (much cheaper, and will shoot any crappy ammo you put through it).
I’d really suggest not getting a mixture -
you want to be able to share magazines and ammo
with your hubby.
So yes, 12% assumes 100% compliance to this Shabazz guy's call to war. More likely less than 0.1% of the U.S. population is ready to take up arms against their fellow Americans because of differing skin colors, and that would be my estimation BOTH ways.
If only we could allow that 0.05% from one side and the other 0.05% from the other side to battle it out in a fight to the finish. Leaving us all happier, healthier and with a higher median IQ.

If you have any with worn or cracked stocks, look around for polymer stocks. There are plenty of retailers who have Mosin-ready polymer stocks that make it much more comfortable to shoot. Once I got my groups consistent with my hexagonal receiver Mosin, I kept that one with the original wood stock and transferred my others to poly for better durability. I’ve bought many with cracked or warped stocks, and the poly stocks make it worth the $80-$110 for these amazing tack drivers.

I think the National Guard, made up of Americans of all races, would quickly eliminate that less than 0.1%.
But it is purely speculative fantasy. May as well think that by killing gruesomely some people and painting “Kill the Pigs” in their blood on the wall you would incite a nationwide race war, that the racialists would win, but would then need Charlie Manson to help them run things.

Savage .308 bolt rifle. Simple, acurate, affordable, common ammo. Let them keep the cheap scope with the “combo package” and get good optics, like an affordable Burris. You won’t like the $69 scope for long.

I think one of his coworkers bought an AK last year (or something similar to it). I remember being told it cost over a thousand dollars, and as this was before we were even thinking about getting into weapons, we were amazed someone would spend that kind of money for a firearm. Now, he’s made a few wistful comments about that weapon...Who knows?
If that’s all it takes to knock your zero off, you got a scope problem.

He might also want to look out for some friendly fire. Just because 12% of the population’s black doesn’t mean that they’ll have 12% of the population on her side. Many black people have white wives, girlfriends, friends, employees, students etc.
I know he wants some kind of long barrel in addition to the handguns, so I’ll pass that along. I’ve asked for advice on firearms at FR and passed it along, and he generally considers it, as this is pretty new to him too.
We are indeed something of a “melting pot” of races and cultures. Hard to extricate yourself as a distinct racial identity when you have “melted” with a different race wife or husband and mixed race children and friends and coworkers of various complexions.
How many think they could win? That's the number.

I guess I used a bit of hyperbole in my original post. I’m not talking drastic changes. I do, however, re-check my scope every time the rifle is jarred or knocked on it.
And yes, it’s not the newest scope, but it works for me when I need it to.
