Obama Allegedly Violated U.S. Code Title 18 (Crimes), Section 600
White House Asked Bill Clinton to Urge Sestak to Drop Out of Senate Race reports,
The White House asked former President Bill Clinton to talk to Rep. Joe Sestak about the possibility of obtaining a senior position in the Obama administration if he would drop out of the Democratic primary race against establishment-backed Sen. Arlen Specter, the Obama administration said in a report released Friday morning.
The White House adds in Nixonese, "But the report, by the White House Counsel's office, concluded that "allegations of improper conduct rest on factual errors and lack a basis in the law." It seems pretty straightforward to us, though. Barack Obama used the resources of the Federal Government as opposed to those of, for example, the DNC or Organizing for America, to influence an election by offering one of the candidates something of value to drop out. If proven, this is a crime punishable by up to a year in prison, and is therefore cause for impeachment and removal from office. To this may be added Barack Obama's personal participation in illegal Internet gambling, specifically the "Dinner with Barack" lotteries he used to raise money for his campaign.

"When told about the Clinton revelation, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., who has been leading the charge for more details on the allegation, said, "This is punishable by prison. This is a felony." "This is about the White House. This is not about Congressman Sestak," Issa said, adding that he wants to know what Clinton was empowered to say."
In other words, we now have at least one House member who believes that Obama committed a crime. If said crime can be proven, this will result in impeachment. "President Biden" is little more palatable than "President Obama" but this should break the back of cap and trade, and maybe even ObamaCare.

This is a pipe-dream, but indeed, a very nice one. He won’t be impeached, but he could be on several grounds.

You are correct; USC Title 18 Section 600 still makes it a Misdemeanor crime to offer a POSITION
But, this whole thing does NOT pass the smell test.

Is there a conservative Woodward/Bernstein in the media willing to take this on? Otherwise it will probably go nowhere...

The hammer of your insight hit the nail of the flawed premise right on the head.
Congress would need to impeach 0bama, and Congress is mostly a bunch of rats and rhinos who wouldn't.

They’re saying it was to serve on a Board (unpaid), not a job. So there’s not ‘technically’ a crime. And I’m sure Bill Clinton told him in the conversation that it depends on the definition of the word “job”. Plus, Rahm can just say he never told Clinton to do it. Plausible deniability all over this one.

I don’t think its an accident the WH is injecting Clinton into this crime. They’re assuming Americans are still too weary of Clinton scandals to pursue it, and are probably right. The law of sooner of later will catch up to this usurper fraud though.

Whos going to impeach him?Of course he won't be impeached, but if the Republicans can make enough nosie about this issue, it will further damage Obama, and the Dems in general who continue to blindly defend him.
To: Winged Hussar
Dream on. Not gonna happen. Not now, not ever, NEVER!
To: Neoliberalnot
Impeachment is not going to happen with a Dem Congress.
What we need is for this to drag out and have max impact on the 2010 elections.
To: Winged Hussar
Sorry, but Bambi could commit murder on national tv and I doubt the congress would impeach him.

Whos going to impeach him?Nobody, right now. However, if the Liberal Messiah continues committing the Nixonian mistake of covering up a relatively minor embarrassing event into an impeachable offense, we could have impeachment proceedings in the next (Republican?) Congress.
