Freep This Poll: Has the Obama administration’s response to the oil spill been enough?

As one of the country’s worst environmental catastrophes unfolds on his watch, President Barack Obama is under increasing pressure from lawmakers and residents of the fouled Gulf coast to take over the oil disaster response.

How are we supposed to “Freep” this, exactly? I, for one, think Obama’s response was for the most part just fine. At least insofar as the main criticism against him (i.e. that he ignored it for too long) is concerned. Presidents are not supermen. I don’t want them puffing up their chests at every opportunity, nor meddling in every little thing.

As for what he’s been doing behind the scenes, and the public lashing out against BP, that’s no good.

Looks very Pres__ential:

All you see is ears, a flapping jaw, and a jacket that's two sizes too big*.

For one thing he could have let Jindal have permission sooner to install sand burms on the barrier islands. This is action that was denied by a federal agency. A little heat on that dept would have sped up local action to protect the marches.
